WTF - such a waste!!! I cringe with the mileage sensitive nature of supercar ownership. Work your backside off to buy the thing then cant drive it because the market frowns upon it! I've just bought a Scud from Paris and happily do that sort of mile day one.. And then drive the wheels off it as I see fit!

I once owned a 348 and went to the annual FOC meet - very nice doo it was. Entered my car in its class and failed when the guys with the white gloves said nope - too much dust! Still was a bit of fun.
However!!! I did win first prize in another class. Best condition car that's done more than 10k miles between MOT dates. I won because it was the ONLY car that had done 10k!!! :-)

Hilarious really that people can't enjoy these things, they actually are better for the miles and don't like to sit around...
To be fair I have 3 "sunday" cars all wanting my attention so I try to do a couple of thousand in each to keep them ticking over and not left standing for long periods. Even the Ferrari dealer says to me at least you use them unlike the majority of their customers

Nice story. That's the trouble with a lot of Ferrari owners sadly. It's more about waxing and polishing than driving the things!

Thing is, you get more for your money if you drive it more!

Picked my scud up May 18 2014, 3,000 miles later I'm still ragging it. Awesome car, totally addictive driving experience. All I need now is a Capristo exhaust to make up for the sound experience I lost from the Strad I traded for it.

Fair play, 1,000 miles per month. I guess its your daily driver then ?

Be interested on your views of the Capristo on the Scuderia if you get one. When I enquired I think it was best part of £10k for the complete system ( heat shields, manifolds, cats, muffler .. ) and I'm not sure its worth that much more over stock.

Got a Capristo on my F355 GTS and that's awesome and is worth every penny of the £3000 I paid for it and made a massive difference to the standard sound and performance

Shame. You'll miss the parade! 650 Ferrari's on track at the same time!

To be honest that was a bit boring in 2012 and that was a Guinness Record with 964 cars on track. We were waiting around for hours just to crawl around at 10 mph.

Due to a stupidly busy year last year I only managed 700 miles in mine - but got home yesterday from a 1,000 (ish) mile euro blast and the car was perfect.
Mine's relatively low miles but that's more down to just getting time to get it out, I suspect this is the case for a lot of owners.
Living in central London makes it hard to use it properly, but getting it out on decent roads and a few mountain passes I have refreshed my appreciation for it. It's covered in road grime and bugs and I think I'll leave it like that for a bit.
I was going to swap it in for a Speciale but have decided it'll stay for the meantime. I've had some decent time on road & track in the Speciale and it's fantastic but the rawness of the Scuderia appeals to me and for the most part, it's still quick enough to get the blood pumping.
I don't think Scud's are overly mileage sensitive so I have no hesitation in using when I can.
Enjoy yours, there's a few decent detours on the way back from Paris for a start.

Car to share where you went on the way back? Off to the Paris motor show in my scud in a few weeks and rather fancy a few choice roads on the way home.

It's been a while but I'll try and dig out some info on roads from Paris. Luckily a mate keeps route notes for decent roads he comes across so I'll check with him as well.

This trip the original plan was to cut across to Italy but I ended up coming up from Monaco, did the Route Napoleon after cutting across to just north of Grasse, did the lower river road through the Verdon gorge instead of going up the more travelled route - it was fantastic, and very little traffic.

After that for this trip I had to spend some time on the Auto-routes up to Epernay due to being let down at the last minute by the guys I booked to get the car down to the coast and losing 2 days (have to mention Alex at Lizard logistics for rearranging a few jobs to help me out - top bloke)

On day 3 after a particularly nasty domestic with my satnav, I turned it off, got off the Auto-route and heading in the rough direction of Epernay, I stumbled on a great, deserted road that made my day.
If you have a bit of time and stay off the auto-routes it's hard to go wrong.
Sorry I can't give road numbers for the north but if I mange to dig any out I'll ping you a PM.

Thanks. Never really tried getting off the auto routes north of Paris. I usually just want to get home by the time I get past Paris as start much further south. Will give it a go.

It can be worth the extra time, I was co-pilotless last trip so was relying on satnav for a day when I had to churn some miles out. Late in the day after a bit of a domestic with the Garmin I turned it off, got off the Autoroute and headed in the general direction of my destination. As well as finding a seperb food stop, I also came across some great roads.
You often have to slow down for towns and villages but that also means you have to accelerate back up to speed as you leave them.

If you have the time, it's well worth taking the extra time of a non Autoroute path.
It'd be a nice way to get to know the new motor on the way home.

The car that was the subject of this thread is now listed at £225k, an increase of £30k, and trumps the car at £220k.

WARNING INCOMING JOKE ! Look away if you are easily offended

I've had my Scuderia for a couple of weeks now so this was bound to have a knock on effect to market prices although I do think a £30,000 increase is a bit rich lol ( Its taken 12 months for my Lambo and 8 years for my F355GTS to do half this amount )

It'll be mental if it sells at anything close to the asking - which I doubt somehow.
