Scuderia.....testing the market

Either way apart from the clocks going forward I can't see the change in the market to justify it when cars at still priced at £175k haven't sold for over 6 months.
Like I say you can advertise it for anything you like when there are relatively few around and it only takes 1 person willing to pay the price or think (s)he has got a bargain because (s)he negotiated £10k off
Where are you seeing RHD Scuderias advertised at £175k that have not sold in over 6 months?Like I say you can advertise it for anything you like when there are relatively few around and it only takes 1 person willing to pay the price or think (s)he has got a bargain because (s)he negotiated £10k off

Having had a look around at the LHD market both in the UK and in Europe - its certainly a minefield! The LHD market doesn't seem to have budged on price at all in the last couple of years, with the current RHD cars mostly @ 200k, its surprising...
I've managed to narrow the search to a couple of cars though, however a couple questions:
I've managed to narrow the search to a couple of cars though, however a couple questions:
- brake and clutch wear readings - 25% and 7% respectively ok?
- are manifolds a concern on the Scuderia? one car has had all the exhaust system replaced whilst going through the 'approved' checks, but not the manifolds - i wondered if this maybe an issue further down the line.
- random question - is it possible to fit a child seat in the Scuderia seats with harness's??

Scud has no precats in the manifolds so you won't suffer an engine failure that has affected a number of standard 430's due to material being drawn back into the cylinders. There is also an improvement to the amount of thermal expansion that is built into the system but they can still crack. Kept an eye/ear on it. Don't agree... Having bought from Europe last Oct and having closely watched prices I would say they are on the up (including the CS's). A large part is down to Euro rates and supply and demand. I know if I wanted my car now it would cost me at least another 25k.Do agree on condition though as there are some ropey examples out there...
Have to agree. I almost pulled the trigger last year on a well cared. One owner red striped all essential extras from a Ferrari dealer. Didn't agree on price for a few Ks and most importantly because they preferred to sell it locally (don't blame them). Should have paid asking and be done with it.
Now impossible to find a good example with annual services done. In the right colour with factory stripes and decent interior. Been looking but the few ones answering criteria have gone up by 10-15k eur.

I bought from Europe last year and have to agree with Silkhillsy, prices are creeping up, it's the exchange rate that's helping atm
Clutch readings can be inaccurate and are not a reliable way of assessing the health of a clutch, short of stripping it out and inspecting you're in the lap of the gods.
Manifolds do crack on Scud's
25% wear on brakes is ok imo
Research and due diligence is the order of the day, there are plenty of cars on the continent with "corrected mileage"
Good luck

To be fair I haven't watched prices that closely - I looked briefly a couple of years ago, and cars seem to be at a similar price in Euros, but of course the rate is better at the moment. I'm not overly fussed on mileage (within reason), more concerned about something that won't be trouble, or at least is covered should a problem arise...

Thanks for the insight. As with any car there is no such thing as zero risk. But I hope buying through Ferrari Approved will minimise the risk, and give the safety net of the power warranty...Clutch readings can be inaccurate and are not a reliable way of assessing the health of a clutch, short of stripping it out and inspecting you're in the lap of the gods.

also, 25% brake wear and 7% clutch doesn't stack up unless it's been replaced which should be documented but as I mentioned the reading has to be taken with a pinch of salt
What mileage is the speedo showing?

Noted - but i think i would prefer to buy through the approved network, and have the power warranty than nothing at all. Surely it must count for something?also, 25% brake wear and 7% clutch doesn't stack up unless it's been replaced which should be documented but as I mentioned the reading has to be taken with a pinch of salt

The car has circa 21k miles, one owner and has always been serviced by the same garage. Clutch has been replaced.
