There remain very little low milage Scuds around which seem to sell quickly and at a premium
The ones on offer seem to be 8000 miles and above and the price tag is some what off putting
The rest are LHD not to everyones taste
I agree, the lower the mileage the more collectable it is. Most of the good ones have already been snapped up which you could argue makes the remaining ones worth more of a premium but only if there are still enough collectors out there willing to pay the higher price.

The cars over 15k miles are more enthusiasts rather than collectors cars and at £200k there are some awesome new cars to be had.
I think the 2 real buffers to sales are 20k miles and £200k and hence why the market has stalled.
Buy one of these and you will lucky to break even without using it as opposed to the last 2 years where buyers have made a nice return and used the vehicle.
Lets not forget that spring brought a £25k price rise for no other reason than people might want a car for the summer so the last "real sale price" was more like £175k.
Meridien have had 3 scuderia at £199k for months now and have had 1 serious enquiry

Collectors may hold off now for the down turn as even the rarer cars will step into line although not as dramatically

He is and has such a good insight on the market. Clearly knows evey enquiry Merdien has taken. Amazing. I admire his ability to exclude certain sales as not real as they were probably at a higher price that doesn't support his arguement.

I think the general consensus is right about owners trying the market now prices are quite so high. It's the same for the GT Porsche where pricing has gone similarly potty. All of a sudden there are a lot of 997 GT3, GT3 RS as well as Scuds. Fair enough really as owners have done well and all of a sudden they are driving around in a car that is more valuable than they are comfortable with and/or they fancy using that money elsewhere. As an example, I bought a renaultsport megane r26r a couple of months ago to use as a little, fun 2-seater that I wouldn't think twice about leaving in a car park. I'm driving that plenty and the Scud isn't seeing much action.

I made a couple of calls myself a few weeks ago re my 9k mile black Scud which has done 60 miles since last service and has a year of warranty to run. If one of the main dealers had it my guess is the ticket price would be £210-215k today. I was offered 150-170 which is one heck of a margin, but more a reflection that they all have stock right now. I politely declined, after falling off my chair at the 150 bid (negotiating 101 I know).

I'm sure the market will settle, but it needs to work through the glut of cars for sale currently. The election will help I think as there will be a bit more certainty around the economic direction. The markets showed this yesterday.

And of course non of this matters if you're in a Scud as a keeper and happy to drive the wheels off thing (as intended) smile

Do you not have a dialogue with your dealers ? Working in the industry and being a serial car purchaser I speak to a whole host of dealers weekly. Maybe you should try and keep up or just bow to greater knowledge

Great minds think alike! I am cringing at using my Stradale nowadays as I simply couldn't replace it if I lost it so I bought this R26.R for exactly the same reason. I ask myself 'haven't I been silly spending so much cash on cars when this is bonkers good in all conditions'? Then when you have a look they are rarer than Scuds and Strads at the moment.

R26 R plates on release now for buttons BTW:

Nice. Did you get it from Steve at Allvehicles? He seems to shift a number of these. I bought a black one from him in February with only 6k miles on it. It handles like a mini GT3 and as it's quite dinky you can thread it very rapidly down back roads.

I'd be very keen to buy your R if you ever decide to sell. See my contact details through my profile wink

I've been out in a friends R26R and there are similarities with the Scud. You can tell that the Renault lot know how to set up a chassis.

Yep. Not quite the same quantity of horses or howl above 8k revs, but point to point down a twisty road I'm sure I'm quicker in the .R

I love almost all cars really and enjoy appreciating them for what they're good at and then making the most of that.

No. It was advertised for a friend of the Grensons MD in Crewe so after the initial contact it as basically a private sale. It was listed as an R26 rather than a R26.R but its the real deal. The car has only 8000 miles and a spare set of track wheels with 888's. The car has several mods by Ktech including more power, bigger intercooler, uprated pads, samco dump valve and I just fitted an Alpine head unit mainly for the BT handsfree aspect. All the wiring is there for the speakers and the head unit if you want to go that way.

I totally agree with the comments about the car. Another way of describing it is that its like a GT3 in reverse with respect to the power/grip when exiting a bend. Additionally, the way it glides over bumps etc on a fast B road is wonderful as unlike a 'supercar' there isnt the worry of bits coming off.

Belt service is due on all these cars by the way so make sure you are up to date.

My first Renault!

Interesting to see that the Euro raid on excellent value Scuderia's might be over...

Seems the market has woken up to the demand and the avg price for a decent example is now 140k / 150k Euro plus...

As for the 360 CS - that horse has definitely bolted!!!

Well the market has spoken, Silverstone Auctions sold 2 today, a 85kms high spec car with odd colour combo, LHD for £250all in, and a Rosso Corsa 16k miles car 130 all in.

Seems a big price differential, market seems strong, still a way to go I suspect.

So it appears that both went for the top end of their guide prices.

This must be the one that went for £250k.

Unregistered, virtually new. Bet it just goes to a collector, can't be many left that are unused.
