Some advice please...

One of the cars I have my eye on is a Stereo delete car. The cars I have seen with Stereo's fitted seem to be done to a high standard, am I right in assuming all of these would have been a factory fit?

Couple of questions...

1. Where do the speakers go, is it just the one centre box between and behind the seats?
2. To have the Stereo retro fitted is it best to go back to Ferrari (to make sure the Alcantera and stitching match perfectly) or has anyone gone to their local ICE dealer?
3. Is it even worth it / car too noisy anyway?
4. If you don't need to go back to Ferrari can anyone recommend a good dealer to fit in London / South East?

Much obliged all...

Mark.

It was a cost option from the factory to have but it only gave you the speakers between the seats. It has a very tinny sound and over the years the only time I have switched the radio on in a CS is if I have been stuck in traffic.
I drove from Ashford to Colchester last week in a CS which is around 100 miles and didn't bother with the radio at all, especially through the Dartford tunnel as the CS is one of the nicest sounding Ferrari's to drive through there!!

I have a factory unit and I am sure there is a coupe of small speakers under the dash on each side or maybe I imagined that as well as the box between the seats.

To be honest the CD jumps at the slightest bump in the road and Id dont think I have have punched in the code to make it work for about three years at least.

My personal opinion (I have a LHD CS) is I wouldn't bother with a stereo but I don't really know what your usage pattern would be

Mine is stripped out, no carpet, no stereo, lexan windows etc and part of the charm for me is not to have the stereo

And, once you're 'on it' the car is incredibly noisy so not sure what acoustic value you would get

I agree with all of the above.

I don't get this "you'll never use it" opinion. If you actually use the car, at least in the UK, you WILL get stuck for collective hours in slow or static traffic. I always find Radio 4 or Podcasts a good companion in these frequent circumstances. On the roll enjoy the car's natural acoustics but unless you live in Berdiddleyboing Idaho you will not always be on the roll.

If you're a collector, and therefore won't actually spend much time in the car, then go with the fully stripped version - preferably without air con or real side windows. When I bought mine it didn't have a radio so the dealer retro fitted one, to factory spec (i.e. It looks like Halfords did it) and I'm glad I asked them to as I put 7000+ UK miles on my CS in just over a Year.

Got a Scud now and yes, it has a radio.

Nah mine was factory mate, I just upgraded the speakers, but in all honesty you really don't need a stereo in a Strad
