Nice one, good car, good spec - enjoy.
Would be interested to hear your thoughts after having enjoying the PET so much once you have a few miles under your belt.

Initial thoughts are you don't realise how much better the Scuderia is versus a standard F430 - steering, suspension, handling, gearchange wow the gearchange, noise. The difference in looks are subtle but are noticeable if you know your cars

Compared to the Performante it is a totally different type of car. I love the Performante for the theatre and drama, the looks and sound are sublime and it gets so much attention and looks like a proper supercar bordering on hypercar. Its stupidly fast, very surefooted with the 4WD but I would say more for posing with the roof down

Even now I can tell the Scuderia is far more focused on driving and is dynamically better - a proper drivers car. Once I've done some more miles in her I think I will grow to love the car even more. On paper there are potential newer/better cars for the money ( Mac and 458 ) but its only when you drive the Scuderia you appreciate the special feel the car has over a regular production car. Small improvements have made a huge difference overall and admittedly belated I realise that now. The car has all the attributes to be a modern classic IMHO

Both great cars in their own way and I can only imagine how much fun a combo of the 2 ie a 16M would be

Agree on the too noisy for residents point, just starting up is enough to put some people out. I have a static db reader which I am going to test mine on to know what they are. Helpful gadget for track days as some tracks are 105 others are 101. I tested my shelby and it was 120 db lol but that had straight pipes.

Enjoy France but careful you don't get cough doing over 160 kph u will lose your license and ban from driving in France for 3 months.
France has also suffered with noise problems. Driving disrespectfully brings forward an EU wide ban on car modifications. Another case of the few spoiling it for the majority.

Rubbish! Its just more nanny state crap that if unchecked will see us all living in and driving safe square grey boxes... Move next to a race circuit - oh theres lots of noise so ill complain. Council slaps a fine on the cicuit.... utter crap.

Sure, if you leave your unwanted fridge in your front garden and rev the hell out of your cortina night and day thats clearly wrong. But a blanket ban... ?????

It's nothing to do with nanny state. In fact the economy usually overrides noise complaints when certain noise polluters are faced with legal action.

Germany were super strict 30 years ago with modifications such as different tyre size or spark plug type being inspected and typed out in the relevant section on the logbook. and yet they have produced some of the fastest, safest, most refined and quietest desirable cars over that period.

Race tracks suffer because they are an easy static outlet for the stressed UK public who looked for peace and quiet at weekends or sought a better quality of life. If the roads hadn't got busier and noisier, it's likely monthly race meetings would have been tolerated like they are with motocross and grass track in Belgium for example, who are very strict about modified exhausts on the road but yet have the most motocross world champions.

Ive raced karts and motocross, motocross suffering quite badly over the years with the loss of venues due to noise complaints.
Kimbolton Kart track for one was a target of noise complaints from local residents, people who who rather than pursue the R1s and GTRs screaming up and down the A14 in the early hours are bound to eventually crack when faced with race track noise for 8 hours on a Sunday and a sitting duck of a target.

I remember baffle packing material being sold in dirt bike shops that came with a card "we believe in self regulated noise control" these were the days when farmers living near motocross tracks gave us permission to extend them into Enduro tracks. You can search the internet way back for off-road bikers modifying their silencers to make more noise as the vicious circle continued.

28 years ago, Switzerland requiring baffles on 2-stroke motorcycles to be welded in and the CDi units given restricted RPMs, yet those bikes bikes unrestricted are nowhere near as loud as powerful modded vehicles today.

I wonder if West Sussex's Police would have brought in 'operation crack-down' if the hoons had been discrete with their exhausts?
