LMAO!!! Looks like he suckered a few of you on here, good lad... Kids can be enthusiasts as well...

Having owned 2 348's I'll answer the op questions...

1. Thinks to look for. It's engine out for a service and every 6000 miles so make sure the book is up to date and if possible done recently.
2. Rear buttresses can split and rust so check them out.
3. Mileage - don't worry about mileage. My first was higher and ran really well (till I aquaplaned it and wrote it off smile) the second was really low miles, while nice gave me lots of issues (expense).
4. Insurance. Well you might need your dad for that one smile

5. If you win, lucky lad - please post pictures, you'll be the envy of your mates!

I saw this car at the Birmingham NEC show. The seats aren't standard 348 items. Anyone know the story behind that?

Standard ones look like this:

But these looked like this:
Actually, those seats are standard 348 seats! - They're the seats originally designed for the 348 and were only fitted to a few early 1989 cars, making them quite rare.

The seats were quickly re-designed to give better lateral support, and those are the seats you describe as the "standard seats"
