Hi semi new guy on this forum (Ferrari). Purchased my 430 Spider two months ago and enjoying it. Recently seen on e-bay at Junction 17 (Peterborough) a rosso spider with a Bordeaux soft top and rosso interior. Never seen one like this before, it may not be to everybody's taste but it is striking. It is also a bit pricey but it has done only 10K miles. Can there be many out there with these colours?
Regards Mick.

I'm glad you're enjoying your 430.

That car you mentioned at Junction 17 is a bit unusual. It was for sale privately a few weeks ago local to me.I viewed it and went out in it. It looked much better in the flesh, was in good condition and had just had after market manifolds fitted. I could of had it for 60k ,but was unsure about the colour combo and it only had one stamp in the book!. So in the end I didn't buy it.

£60K for a 430 with only 10K on the clock, that on the surface would seem to be a very good deal. I am unsure that I could have walked away.

Yes I know, it was hard to walk away at that price but just didn't feel I could live with the colour combo, a bit too much red!! Also not having all the proper service history was a problem to me(only one stamp in the book). Its ok for dealers as they can offer warranty to back things up. I was a little scared that I might end up with a car I could not sell in the future. I think its very easy to buy the wrong car but always better to buy the right one in the end?

Yep i enquired about that one but only one stamp in the book for a 10 year car put me off and also i did not think i could live with all that red!

One stamp in nine and a half years shows us this car has not been looked after. Ouch!

Yep. Such a shame - why neglect it like that? I can only guess that the owner wasn't savvy and thought in terms of service schedules for mainstream cars i.e. assumed that 10k isn't yet enough to warrant a service.

Despite the mileage I'd put the value somewhere around 55k.

With no service stamps I'd be suspicious that the 10k mileage is genuine. Any MOT certificates to back the mileage up?

The engine and gearbox ECUs record mileage don't they? Perhaps the seller can provide ECU readouts to back the mileage up.

I don't think you are talking about the same car as I went to Junction 17 Cars in Peterborough to look at this car with the intention of buying it on what I saw on here thinking i could get a good deal. The vehicle is stunning and drove lovely, I saw the service book it has six stamps i also rang Ferrari to confirm this they also had MOT history checker. i made a cheeky offer but wasn't excepted. New to this forum but needed to comment with regards to this topic... Peter Hothead1978

It sounds like there will be another F430 in Lincs soon, then.

Now at £80k...Hmmmm..!

Never seen this type of thing before. Paying a dealer to prepare a car for sale, that it is selling.

"* A pre-delivery administration fee of £79 is payable on all car sales, this includes HPI certification, pre-delivery inspection report, oil service (if necessary) and full professional valet."

I have six red F430 Spiders with red interior, but I don't generally note the roof colour so don't know about that bit.

I have looked at a couple of cars at junction 17 and they have all been pretty poor in all honesty. Seems the sort of place that buys anything it can cheap at auction/ from desperate private sellers. They had an E46 M3 in there a few months back for top money that was shoddy to say the least!! if you go there at the weekend when they are closed and look at a lot of the cars outside/ round the back saying they are awaiting preparation or whatever then you will see what I mean wink flat tyres and allsorts!
