There's definitely plenty of buyers around for the right car. Back in late October I gave mine to a main dealer on a SOR basis expecting it to be sat around for weeks or worse, 4 days later it had sold at top money with another potential buyer lined up...he who hesitates...

Great to hear that the F430 is selling at or near the asking price. What puzzles me is why cars like this one have been sat around for at least 4 years:

Yep, a 2008 spider with low miles in Rosso/Crema ceramics etc, at £80k, the person who bought that will feel like they've nicked it right now!!

Maybe because they had a 2007 Spider with CCM's up for the same price? Admittedly it had another 5k miles but when the two are sat side by side which looks better value?

Regards prices - I missed out on that £79,999 car in Cornwall because I thought the price was a bit high, hesitated to put down a deposit as I was waiting for a PPI quote, and before I knew it it had been sold. Turns out the "we've had plenty of interest, the price is non-negotiable" schtick was actually true. smile

Pretty gutted about it now, to be honest.
I started looking in January last year and made a bid on a main dealer approved car straight away! it was an 08 with ceramics but no race seats, SOR and 30k over what I was originally thinking I would get a nice one for! Total rush of blood (I'm a salesmans dream lol) I bid within 2k of asking and the owner thankfully refused the deal. After lots of searching, I ended up looking at about 6 more in my spec of Rossa/Crema with a mixture of race seats and ceramics. Found my car 3months later (I got lucky imho!) and while it was a little older than I wanted it is perfect. Rosso Corsa, large race seats, Scud ceramics (398mm), Tubi, carbon zone/mirrors/paddles/steering wheel/engine bay/air box/vents, scud style wheels and lots more. I agreed to buy the car over the phone and drove nearly 300miles (East yorks to near Poole on the south coast) to see it in the flesh and check it over etc.
Feel like I got very lucky and the specialist dealer was great to deal with after what had been a frustrating few months.
I would say put your budget down your list of priorities and go for the car in the spec YOU want rather than compromise, I'm very glad I did smile

That car at £75k make Slarti's look cheap, like for like the miles are much lower and the Crema interior is much preferred but the race seats and spec are the same!!!

I spose I don't have a budget, but at the same time don't want to pay twice as much for a Scud when there's deals out there like Slarti's. Have even been tempted by a black on in the classifieds that's amazingly spec'd and just requires a £4k respray in red..... Or is that not done?

I have had the very same thoughts with the F355, buy a green or blue auto for £30k under a red manual one and respray it to red and put a manual box in, can't be that hard or that costly?

Really depends who you ask... I would say most on here would say not - however - I too have a black car and having always bought red fezza's thought I'd go for a change. Loving the black at the moment but there is that longing for the red at the back of my mind so have not ruled out a colour change as I see my Scuderia as a keeper. I've asked reputable dealers about their views on colour change cars for honourable reasons (Foskers for example) and the advice is, if properly documented / photographed and ensuring the work is of high quality then it would not be a problem. Even went as far to say the expense of the colour change come resale (black to red) would be offset by the premium you could charge for then car being re-sale red. Personally I'm not so sure about that last comment... I've also seen a fair few older classic circa 1960 Ferrari's that have had colour changes, again supported by extensive documentation and had zero impact on the cars value...

What I do know is that you'll need more than £4k for a decent colour change!

Would rather wrap the car than a total respray. Cheaper and easily undone to return to original without all the stigma of a respray

Not if you want a deep quality finish. Wraps are ok but they never really come up the same as good paint work...

....until you try and sell it.

In the aston Martin world you can do this with no impact to value provided you use aston Martin works in Newport Parnell. I don't believe there's an equivalent for ferrari (short of sending the car back to the factory?)

The up side to a resprayed car would be decent paint for the first time since it left the factory ...laugh

To respray a Ferrari in a different colour would in my opinion be the one way of ruining your potential resale chances at the right price. Same with wraps, I'm yet to see a wrap that isn't flawed in some area.
Ferrari owners being generally what they are (anal) will think you're trying to hide something about the condition or history of the car and will walk accordingly.
As for a 4k respray I'm assuming the engine bay gets ignored in the process but being on show I don't see how it can be!

I agree with the points you make but would like to point out that there is no colour in the engine bay - it is all satin black.

I'm also thinking of doing something similar and changing my 911 Carrera 4S for an F430 so I'm intrigued on the earlier comments of servicing costs. I only do about 4-5k miles per annum.

Here here. The original paint finish is shocking - worse than BMW smile Easily sorted with a good detail but I did expect better.
