Time to revisit me thinks - been following the prices keenly and have noticed that the cheapest F approved used 458's a few months ago were £150k and now they can be had under £140k - is this the winter or 488 effect?

Winter effect IMO as no RHD 488's have been delivered (or even seen yet!)

There have been F approved used 458s for £140k for a while now, I saw one or two at Lyndhurst at that level since the start of the year. Even test drove a £140k one in June I think it was. I believe I've seen one at £135k, can't remember which dealer though. But never at £130k or lower.

Its the winter effect not the 488 effect IMHO.
The 488 effect is still to come but is a little way off yet

Thread revival, I know but this is two years old and values were just creaming to and under six figures for a 458. Now, it appears that values have remained or even slightly firmed up.

The effect of the 488 seems to have been less pronounced. Perhaps due to the turbo?

i think its more to do with ever increasing retail prices of the next generation cars, 911's are the same.... it inadvertently props up the older generation cars IMO

The slightly dull 488 has prolly helped support 458 prices. Was chatting to one of the Ferrari rental shops in Maranello a few weeks ago. He was saying ~70% of Ferrari fans who rent one by the halfhour prefer the noise and drama of the 458.
