I'll write up over the weekend on my first impressions. The initial drive just gives you a sense of what's on offer. The turbo s has been beyond fast and solid on the roads especially when on the continent. I loved it's insane practicality and it's without let-up acceleration. Roll on the F430....

So now had the 430 for the last week and although I haven't gone for any mega drives yet here are my initial reactions:

Makes each time I go into it an occasion
Sounds epic on start
Sounds epic as you move up and down the gears with the F1 magic
Love moving down the gears v v quickly into corners
Rides well on our A and B roads, sweeps through corners
The race seats are good for me slight discomfort then my back it's worked it out
The view from side and rear mirrors are without doubt the best rear view if any car I've driven
Everyone wants a drive in it
I can't stop looking at it
It can also puddle along as well as go go go
The R manoeuvring is ok once you get yourself sorted
Red and crema with red stitching and carbon zone And engine compartment is beautiful
I look forward to some decent drives where I can get to grips with its limits so far so brilliant.

I never really got Ferrari's, Ive owned 4 911s, a Boxster, a Cayman S, 5.0 XKR, SL55, even a stint with a 355 about 10 years ago.

I bought a few F Cars this year, and last weekend picked up a 2008 Spec'd to the hills F430 F1 Coupe and drove it back from East Germany.

The whole experience, the noise, the power, the feel, the love from other drivers - which I never get in any thing else, the fact that it's Rosso, is just on another level. Queuing up for the Euro Tunnel, people came over to have a look and chat. There was an Aerokit 991 4S a few cars ahead didnt get a look in (and probably cost twice what I paid). Did I say the noise?? Holy cow the noise!

Build quality is very good, miles ahead of my 348 and 355. No funny noises, rattles or squeeks, the carbon bucket seats were surpisingly comfortable over nearly 1000 miles. Everything worked, and the F1 box was a joy. Initially I was dubious about it, but soon learnt how to get the best out of it. It is so much fun to use.. I dont feel I'm missin any enjoyment not being a manual.

They are not automatics, and shouldnt be driven as one, always take it out of gear when stopped or on a hill.

I think they are the performance car bargain of the century, mine is LHD and with the Euro the way it is, it was a no brainer.

I encourage anyone to drive one and then ask if you would want a similarly priced Porsche/Audi/Merc for the same money....

Hey 911f have you any advice for buying a 430 in East Germany ?!
Was it private or from a dealer ? And as you said with the way the euro is,
What sort of saving do you think you made ?! Lhd doesn't bother me either..
