I think the 458 does sound great. It's loud - but the noise isn't refined or special. Just my opinion!
355 was the last good sounding Ferrari v8 in my opinion.

I drove a 488 at a 'first drive' event arranged at Millbrook Proving ground. The biggest leap forward was in the braking. These are LaF figment and what a improvement! On the 1 mile straight, using launch control and up to 175mph and then emergency stop. My god - how impressive!
The launch control, side-slip 2, zero turbo/lag, it's brilliant.
Also, can now use bumpy road setting in 'race'. This combined with the better gear change, makes progress so much smoother.
Noise in the cabin is reduced, but still sounds so good! The rate of rev rise is also epic - yep, it's a winner!

Did you have something under the accelerator pedal - I managed 182 and that's with the TC coming in at the start because I'd got a little bit of lock applied hehe
As you say the brakes are epic when you stand on them. James Pickford was my test driver - boy can he pedal it!
As an aside - can't you set bumpy road in race on your current Italia then?

I saw 282 kph - and the 1/4 mile sign was fast approaching, self preservation meaning I braked early! Needn't have bothered as could of easily carried on accelerating right to the marker as the braking is so immense! I was with Ray Grimes - all those guys are so impressive; circuit knowledge helps!
No - bumpy road only available in 'Sport' in the Italia.

The pad material is the same but I don't think the whole package is the same.

I don't think that's true. Calipers look identical and it's an old Ferrari trick - they put Enzo brakes on the CS. It helps amortise the development of the system over more cars whilst ensuring the hyper car gets the best brakes they can manage given the low volume. Press blurb says 'braking system from LaFerrari' too.

Poor effort from you! Your punishment is to go and try it out in Race Mode with Bumpy Road engaged, at the soonest possible moment - Im sure you need some bread and milk from a very far away location....

RTFM?

Cant be many roads you don't actually have bumpy road switched on?
Track possibly the only place you dare switch it off :P

Glad you drove it to work, at least she's being driven biggrin

Think of it as having decided to improve the car by tuning it and then saved time and cost by doing it yourself.. et voila, a new and improved car all by your own skill.

Result.

Feel better now?
