I don't think that's true. Calipers look identical and it's an old Ferrari trick - they put Enzo brakes on the CS. It helps amortise the development of the system over more cars whilst ensuring the hyper car gets the best brakes they can manage given the low volume. Press blurb says 'braking system from LaFerrari' too.The Speciale has a different compound on the friction layer of the discs, and in the pads.
The 488 has more road biased compounds, and also has weights on the calipers to reduce noise.
I'm not sure about piston sizes between the two - they do differ in the Extrema caliper.
