That said, i've seen a few 991 Gt3 laps on youtube at the 2.41/2.40 mark so i'd expect a Speciale to easily match that.
I'll believe a sub 2:41 991 gt3 spa time from an amateur driver when I see it.

It's been bandied about on the Porsche side of PH a few times but have never seen anything even near it personally and my feeling is that it'll take a really seriously good driver to get there.

I have seen a video of 2:38 on a damp and drying track on April 29th 2015.

I'm not a great driver, but I reckon there's easily another 5-8 seconds on a dry and warm GP circuit.

I subjected Slickshilly to a couple of laps and he returned the favour in his Scud.

I managed a 7.40 BTG ring time with a passenger and traffic the weekend after on well past their best tyres and not going too mental.
Something that will live with me forever Andy! The Spa laps were great and just shows how capable these 'road' going specials are. It was the ring lap that blew me away. For the first minute of the lap all I could think was how to get out the car! Then from min 3 it was truly laugh out loud brilliant. Never knew cars could grip like that. The bikes I race (obviously) handle in a very different way so the ring lap was a real eye opener.

The NHS should find a way to bottle and sell that experience, an instant cure for depression!!! biggrin

Hows the Speciale mate, tucked away for the winter? The Scud is in for paintwork TLC (full front end for stone chips) and then a clear bra when she's 100% box fresh.

The Ring is a real eye opener for people smile even people who have been going for a while smile The M3 is on a 200kg diet over the winter and will be totally gutted so next year up another level. smile

I'm glad you are getting the car sorted and it was a great day at Spa and thanks for the lap.

The Speciale is tucked up for now but will get taken for an oil change and a little tlc before next season.

Am shocked by the amount of APERTAs btw. i thiught there would be many more coupes than apertas.

That said I still think that that the coupe is better looking and better suited to the spirit of the car. Admittedly you get less involvement but until Ferrari goes carbon tub chassis like McLaren the extreme versions as convertibles will be more for show than for go.. But that's just me :-)

Rubbish.
Chris Harris tracked my car at Castle Combe and found there was little of any consequence to choose between the two variants.
I have driven both in anger many times and unless you are a 10/10ths driver, there is nothing to split them ,IMO .

5 x more coupes than Aperta is surely " many more" is it not ?
