You may not realise but London is a big place with differing areas
If you stand at the junction of Eaton Place & Lyall Street there are usually 458s parked in each of the four directions
There was a Gallardo parked on the street in Brixton the other day - but I'm not sure for how long........

Good points. You're right, I see lots of exotica around Chelsea. I work in the city near Liverpool Street. Guessing shoreditch isn't as safe? Or is it? Note, I don't actually live in London (yet) so don't know the areas well enough yet. Currently commute from manchester twice a week.

Shoreditch - probably not, no.I have a place by Liverpool Street. In my have a measly Z4 and a RRS but they are parked on the street.
people sit on them all the time, had a big scratch out into my bonnet. scratches all over the bumpers by people parking.
I wouldn't park something nice on the street. But plenty of flats around here with off street parking

I'm tossing up between a 458 or a vanquish. Heart says 458 but the vanq seems the more sensible option (sensible in the oddest sense possible of course).

I live in City of Westminster and have a residents parking permit for the zone I live in. Unfortunately, I don't have a garage / driveway.
It is safe enough to park on the street but the major danger is neighbours who can't drive trying to back in as close as possible. I've had scuffs which t-cut out but even a few chips and one crack to a bumper. It's inevitable when you park on the street, but when I parked in a garage further away from my house, I found myself not using the car as much - which is wrong surely.

As mentioned previously, biggest problem with parking on-street in London is people backing into you. There's another Sagaris owner on Oakley street who has to put a cone in front of his to avoid it! I guess the risk of that is the same parked up during the day, but you'll be safe from the drunk people who are probably the biggest threat. During the day I don't think it's different to parking in any town, except that instead of everything flocking around your car as they would somewhere else, nobody will give a s

The main problem - regardless of location - is damage while it's parked. My LP560 was damaged 3 separate times in the space of 3 months over this summer on a fancy street in South Kensington through others reversing into it (front and side) while parked overnight. GBP 21,000 of Lambo repair work.
Garaging is an option but not cheap. If you do find a place with underground parking it's win win and your best bet.
I now carefully park at end of resident bays (I figure that's 50% less chance of damage) or in single bays. In the better parts of London it should be ok overnight, but best to keep it parked away from pubs, bars etc to avoid the drunk idiot syndrome.

That number doesn't surprise me.
I needed £4k worth of (insurance) when my neighbour backed into my California and split the bumper and damaged the reversing camera - but at least she admitted to it. A month after getting it back /resprayed etc, the binmen reversed into the side of my car - cracking the front wheel arch. I don't park on the same street anymore.

Had 2 Aventadors parked on the street I left my car last week, parking near the connaught in Mayfair, forget the street name. So you can definitely do it, though I wouldn't. Nothing malicious, just accidents happen, and accidents are much more likely to happen on an open street spot than a private spot.
I used to work in Liverpool Street - trading desk so had to be in by about 7.15am - I lived in Borough at the time, but still drove in. Traffic was generally fine at that time and I found an underground space to rent - someone's unused space from their apartment, backed onto Spitalfields. They rented it out for about £130 a month and it was mine to use whenever with my own key fob for the gate. No brainer really, get yourself one I'd say. I got it from ParkLet.

Considering I once paid £38 to park in the Park Lane carpark for one day, that is very very cheap!

Ha yep, it works out very well. I moved to be inside the congestion zone as well, so only cost 90p for CC and had gated parking at my apartment.Used to enjoy driving in to work, had an AMG merc SL. Funny driving past a senior boss on the way to work once, him riding his bike, me a junior guy on the desk cruising in with the roof down lol.
