£300k all in according to Harry Metcalfs Twitter.
I was at the auction. You have to add 20-25% to the Hammer price to arrive at the value - utter madness. These are the cars that dump all their value once the market turns. You can argue that a manual 599 or 360 Stradale is a pure (and rare) drivers car but a California - no way. The only build a few because they could not sell anymore. This is the problem with this market right now. Everything which has a hint of being rare is expensive irrespective of it being sought after or not. hornbaek said:

Not if they drive like the 12C coupes at the McLaren experience day held at Goodwood I attended. Getting in at the 650s stage you missed out on all the gearbox software horrors - the original car was developed by customers. Still all good now and I'm sure all are running the latest software. They will be wanting McLarens not manuals

Roll on 10 years from now is what I say..... I can't wait to add a bargain basement Manual 355 and Manual 360 to my collection. Any ideas how cheap they'll be??They will be wanting McLarens not manuals
Perhaps £50k each for a low mileage example that nobody wants??

On the contrary, it seems that for Ferrari it is the end.
I just bought a pretty mint (not concours)LHD 1995 2.7m very low mileage 355 Spider in manual, I could not afford a RHD, ridiculous prices! That was the car I wanted and I was afraid if I hang it out more the price for 355 would be out of my reach, I hope I have made the right decision and not bought at high end of market and it drops again! It was £76.000 some might say it's too much but maybe in a couple of years they will eat there words, who knows??

A great car is a great car, regardless of the era, spec or tech and as people mature, they'll seek the experience of owning them and worry less about the "look at me I've got the latest thing" which seems to pervade many people.
This will be emphasised even more by the trend towards making cars so easy to drive fast that the driver is engineered out of the experience. In turn enthusiasts seek past cars that involve them more.
It's like being a mountaineer and catching a helicopter to the peak of the mountain. It's faster, more efficient and easier but you're no longer a mountaineer. You're a passenger.
Same with cars.
