Asking Prices for Manuals still climbing!!

Have you spoken to any dealers yet to get an idea of what they could return you? Ring around and tell them all the details and get a idea of what they think they can realistically sell your car for. 430 manuals have risen in value but those that are looking to invest are probably looking for lower mile examples that might put yours with over 30k miles on a harder sell but there will be people looking for one.
Is yours a coupe or spider?
£110k, 38000 miles spider on market
£117k, 25000 miles spider on market
£119k , 40000 miles coupe with Lawton

Coupe nice spec, IE red, tan Daytona, extended leather Becker nav/ sub woffer, always serviced on time and in most cases over serviced.
I have approached one small indi dealer with a view to taking it on SOR who gave me a disappointing figure that i know was way off as i have other offers of + £30k what they said it was worth.
To be honest not sure what to do as the offer i have had i happy with but feel i may be leaving some £££ on the table.
I would guess trade offer of £85-90k being the best offers, dealers always like a big margin. Sor will best net you £100k if they market at £115 and sell at close to 110k. It's down to how quick you want to sell and what you intend to replace it with, being October it might take a few months, that manual at lawtons has been on already a couple months at least.
The gap between Trade bids to Retail have widened dramatically as prices have been hiked up and sales slowed down.
The dealer is taking a big gamble and tying up capital if he is sitting on the car for years in some cases.
Previously with the market ever "appearing" to rise they would take the chance but now they know prices are over inflated, punters for a quick sale/profit are not there and when the bubble bursts they could be sitting on some very expensive stock that will require a fire sale to shift at a big loss if they do not factor in a huge safety buffer at point of purchase.
If a dealer has potential clients lined up then yes you might get a decent offer.
I think your trade bid of £85k for an early 35k car seems strong.
Maybe the title of this thread needs to be updated to prices have peaked and are now falling to be representative of the real situation

Perhaps simplistically couldn't you ring around 3 dealers and get their buy price? Then look at the classifieds at the main dealer forecourt prices, and you have your answer. Private would be somewhere in the middle of that (arguably closer to trade buy than trade sell given the lack of finance, warranty, implied security from dealer purchase, etc)
You can have an idea of what it's worth in your head but as with everything it will come down to how long you're willing to wait in a moving market. The fact we're rapidly heading towards winter is not going to help matters either.

Thanks for the Replies, will update the thread with what happens
Give Dave in sales at The Ferrari Center a call, they will SOR for you at a very sensible rate, and give you a true indication of value. At -30k I would suggest that dealer does not differentiate between F1 and manual, or more to the point hopes you don't.
Car now sold.
Now for the back story, i took the car to be serviced and chatted to the guy who owned the garage that i may be selling it, he asked how much would you take for it as is, £90k was what i thought it was worth "as is" as it needed a front end paint job, a corrosion blister sorting out on the roof and some other cosmetic work done.
My thoughts were this, the car was nowhere near ready to sell as it was and i would have to try and get the paint work sorted to my very high standards and to be honest i don't think i had the fight in me to get this done, yes i am that fussy on paint!!
After a few low ball offers the trader (someone known to the garage owner) paid the £90k.
My feelings are the car is worth £110k retail so with the cost to prep, advertise, sell the car i think that was a fair deal for both parties.
Could i have got more, yes i think i could. I had a firm offer of £95k from another trader on the table but this was with me getting the paint work done and like i said i did not want to go down that route.
As i said i had one independent guy come and look at the car first with a view of SOR and he said around £60k is what he valued it at !

£60k Glad to hear you've got a price that you're happy with.
As an aside, my feeling is that 360's in general (maybe manuals more so) are actually undervalued. I am biased of course, but they say a car is over valued when even it's owners begin to question whether it is worth it's price tag.
I don't yet feel that way. Given what else you can get for £70-95k I think the 360 still has potential for more increases. It's also dating well in my opinion.
That said, I'm probably wrong of course

I think you did OK chippy348 - A 2005 coupe with 35k miles, needing a bit of paint and let's not forget, we're in November...... I think what you got for the car sounds absolutely right.
I also think he did incredibly well but what will be interesting to see is how much the trader advertises it for. They tell you its a pile of crap, old technology, no one wants them etc... when they want to buy it then add minimum £25k on the advertised price and tell you the complete opposite and all of a sudden is the dogs dangliesRamboLambo said:
