A neighbour, dont know which one, is flying a drone over my garden and everyone elses. Has been doing it for an hour or so.
I have a catapult, anyone know of an issue if I shoot it down?
Best not, I suspect it's a new purchase so just trying it out for the first time, hopefully they will fly elsewhere next time.I have a catapult, anyone know of an issue if I shoot it down?
No, but if you work out who it is it's probably worth mentioning 'The Drone Code', can't be within 50m of anyone or thing from memory, without permission (not from the people, but the CAA).
Either way, I imagine he's just testing it before taking somewhere else, in theory it's no more intrusive really than satellite imagery, which can be done without you knowing.

I would be starting a new hobby, see what I can lob up in the air with what implements are in my garage. Not my fault if it hits anything.
Camera's are pretty darned good on some of these devices.
Someone bound to tell me its illegal. Maybe get my own drone then and attach a lance... have at you......
What are the laws it if had an accident over my property inside what they cannot do?

I greatly fear the fashion for drones, we have not seen anything yet.
Only a matter of time before they get into the hands of terrorists who could use them as remote bombers delivering an explosive load right into the centre of MOD properties, nuclear facilities etc. How would you stop a drone descending into the Wembley arena, & there have already been near misses near airports.
Our privacy WILL be invaded & there will be little we can do about it. An air gun might be the answer but as already suggested bringing down a drone which are getting bigger with blades that could cut your arm off would do even more harm.
Imagine the sort of person operating a camera carrying drone hovering over a children's playground, beach etc.
Weirdo's & Peeping Toms are probably having a field day already.

drones ?
Like anything else good and bad out there. They are useful devices and can cut costs and assist in many ways. Used to check power lines now. As I said all sorts of good.
Then again there are the bad - they can be used to annoy etc.
If I were you find out who's it is and strike up conversation with him. see if he would inspect your roof etc. check your gutters.
dont just knock it out the sky. give him fair warning that your not impressed.
