Meridian just gave me these figures:

To confirm; the assembly number is 78048.

As discussed, the clutch and brake wears will be checked prior to delivery. However, the figures were as follows on the 19/03/2015 @ 16,036 miles:

Brake Wear: 7% per axle

Brake Pads: @ 10.0 mm

Clutch Wear: 14% worn

Looks really good!

Waiting for AN from Graypaul....

Graypaul 430 has AN 75741 so they're saying it is an 08 car and has new gearbox pressure sensor...

It must have the changes because a pre MY08 car does not have the gearbox (clutch) pressure sensor.

It's all coming down to personal choice based on the spec.

Argh, decisions, decisions! Looks like I'll have to have a back to back test on Tuesday as it's so close. All down to seats and brakes now! More stopping power IS always better. Looks like a schlep Down South then...

Graypaul car has AN 75741, Looks like F430 on UK driver's side mirror and no key hole on passenger side, so seems a bona fide 2008 car (registered on Ferrari Modis system Jan 2008), also had its 18odd K mile service early for some reason and 4 new tyres. Meridien car will get an annual service before delivery and maybe 2 new tyres on rear. It's all going to build down to what they feel like on the day smile

^^ I agree. Go for the best possible spec you can afford in the colours that you like.

Oops, well thanks to thecook101's classic 'Do It' post (I love that film!) I appear to have done it. Also, thanks to paulmnz and mwstewart I went with the ceramic brakes and carbon race seats. I liked the lower position and better fit of the race seats and the purer spec of the car. There wasn't even any drink involved. Can't wait to pick it up. Photos will be posted!

Again my view and experience of Ferrari factory warranty on a F430 is different. Regardless of what the small print said, everything that went 'wrong" with my car was replaced without even having to ask. I.e. Manifolds replaced for a third time on eight year old car. Even though no advisories on MOT the dealer said a little play in front upper and lower ball joints-replaced under warranty without me even having to ask. Had a couple of electrical warnings diagnosed as needing a replacement battery. All paid for by Ferrari factory warranty within 24 months of purchase. Dealership even resprayed an area of corrosion around rear light free of charge 15 months into ownership. I don't think any non factory backed would have paid for any of these items which I think could have cost me c£8-9k.
Am sure all in all I paid a small premium for buying from main dealer, but my experience is that the peace of mind for me of having a factory backed car has been worth it. Hence, when I ended it trading it in to the same dealer for a 458.

Oh and the 430 was a wonderful weekend toy but I wouldn't want to use it for a commute only car so really recommend it to compliment your Porsche.

+1 Bought a car last October and soon the manifold developed a rattle and it was changed with no questions asked. They also found a leak on the calipers from the car not being used that often by previous owners which the fixed and in the process found a some other little bits and bobs and fixed them with no questions asked.

Has anyone any experience of Meridien Modena? I'm told the warranty is supported by any main dealer on the network. I don't want a 600 mile round trip every time I need something doing!

I got my ross scud 599 GTB from them earlier this year, over all was quite impressed with the service. The warranty is UK wide and yes you can take it to any official dealer. I've had mine into Graypaul Edinburgh no problems!

Bah, Meridien now telling me clutch wear at 53% (up from 14% just over 1500 miles ago!), and brake wear 16%. Is this normal or have I signed up for something that's been hooned? How soon would I have to change the clutch with moderate driving and roughly how much is it?

53 % @ 16000 miles seems much more believable than 14 % - very very approximately that should give you 10-20 000 more miles - at a guess a clutch is about four or five grand fitted depending on bearing flywheel etc but ask Meridien
