Amusing advert - perhaps a scam?
Discussion
Whilst wafting through the classifieds came across this amusing advert or scam. You're not allowed to view the car until you've paid the vendor for a inspection at Porsche Silverstone. The vendor then gives you a reference code to contact Silverstone lol????!!!!!!!!!

Its certainly odd but I can sympathise with the owner and his desire to separate the genuine buyers from those who just want a test drive.http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/p...
I had a chap come to see my GT3 who turned up and literally kicked the tyres, asked a couple of questions then after telling me about a drive he had in one a while back (where he could really feel the four wheel drive system firing him out the corners) asked for a test drive.....I just said I had an appointment to attend to so I would have to rearrange another time.
There are some proper knobs out there but I am not sure this approach will be the most effective at filtering them out.
If someone wanted to sell a car, would they not be better to pay a tiny fraction of the asking price for an inspection which could then be used to prove the car's condition?
Does this ad mean the car might end up getting inspected again and again as each prospective buyer pays up?
And if it's so hard to get it out of heated storage and it can't be viewed, how are Porsche Silverstone going to inspect it?
Anything that raises this many questions is something I would just avoid.
