Hi I'm looking to remove my private plate and put back on the original registration. Could somebody please clarify the costs involved? Is there a payment involved in removal of private reg and then another payment to put original reg on?
Also what is required to sell the reg privately.
Many thanks for feedback in advance

You can do it all online now, it's c.£80 to remover the private plate and put it onto a 10yr retention certificate. A new age real age reg (normally it's original one) gets reassigned to the car FOC.

The £80 fee includes the future cost of assigning to a new vehicle.

With it being online it all happens nigh on instantly and new v5's normally land within 48hrs in my experience smile

This. ^^^

Don't hold out too much hope of selling that plate privately though.
