2010 Megane RS 250 running costs
Discussion
Hi all,
Thinking about snapping up a decent used example of a Megane RS 250 at the lower end of the market. Looking at, for example, a 10 plate with 50k on the clock. Would the running costs / potential borkage factor put you off? General servicing doesn't seem too expensive, I know it'll cost a lot in tyres as they're 18/19's. Beyond this is there much to expect to go wrong?
Cheers

This shape Megane is generally very reliable.
You are correct that the tyres are not cheap. The brakes also are not cheap.
If the engine has been played with, there are a few that have popped.
The main running cost is the fuel, if you drive it like it's supposed to be driven you'll be spending a lot!
Btw, the spec you want is: Recaros, Cup Pack, 19's, visibility pack and preferably sport yellow.

Personal preference. I really like sport yellow, I'd take it over Liquid yellow.
the 19's make the car IMO. The standard 18's are a bit meh.
I agree when I think Renault RS I think yellow or blue and yellow is what I would go for.the 19's make the car IMO. The standard 18's are a bit meh.

Generally very reliable - had mine for nearly 6 years from new.
Servicing is very reasonable, but yes tyres and brakes will be expensive.
There are a few suspension components that wear out over time, you can notice a few knocks over speed bumps if they're on the way out. Not cheap to fix, but just general wear and tear that you'd expect on a performance car with a few miles on it.
