Bulkhead heatshield. Anyone done it?

Has anyone added heatsheild to the bulkhead?

Any noticeable improvement?

Would seem good opportunity to fit it whilst the heads / top of the engine is off.

I'm thinking of this bit of the bulkhead.

I haven't done it.

The bodywork around headers seems to be the critical area and is already insulated as standard. Insulation round the rest of the engine bay might help keep heat (and maybe a bit of noise) out of the cockpit but I don't see any particular need for it. If you do add insulation you need to beware that some of the hoses through that area are quite tight so make sure you don't introduce chaffing problems.

Just to close this off. Thanks for the above. Decided not to do it in the end. Applied some on the passenger side to cover the [now disused] fresh air vent supply. Layered some off cuts of heat shield on the inside to form a sandwich to block the hole.
