The toolkit that comes with an F355, is it the same as the toolkits that came with other Ferrari's of that period?

I've been offered 2x new old stock kits and only need one for my F355 so was going to advertise the other. It would be good to know if the same one was supplied with other models as I've been told a number of models used the same toolkit.

I'm pretty sure it is the same toolkit in the 348. Ferrari Classic Parts should be able to confirm which models it is applicable to.

laugh good luck with that. They will sell/mention whatever is on their shelves which may well bear little relation to the original product.

If it's just 10% like the 308/328, there will be have been changes across the range as suppliers of the various bits & pieces were switched over time. Nobody was much bothered by this minutiae until the 308/328 became 30,40 yrs old & vintage OCD collectivitis took hold.

For truly expert crowd-knowledge, I'd head over to the relevant section on F chat.

I think I'm right in saying the shallower one (as pictured) was introduced around 1997 with the can of tyre gloop being in a grey plastic container inside a beige cloth bag to match. Earlier cars had a double height leather case with the tyre gloop in the bottom of it under the tool trays, 348's were either a different shape or the taller one but also with different tools to the 355

I don't think that's true. They've been very helpful to me and friends of mine.

You're quite right. I didn't look closely enough. The 348 version is indeed taller with the tyre gloop in the bottom.

Interesting, mines a 98, and has the full height kit with the tyre gloop. Interestingly the case is black, I've only ever seen cases before.

Yes, very helpful indeed for all mechanical parts & getting the correct fit across the myriad versions & countries of origin. But accessories are not high priority and are replaced by the factory without any thought to "originality" & the spares distribution network has to follow what the factory sends out. As the cars age, items get sourced from wherever before many eventually become NLA.

Looks the same as the 456GT tool kit.
I think you are missing a 10mm foam layer, that sits on top of the 3 racks.

I would be interested in the bag, not necessarily the tools.

With replacement tools for the toolkits, Ferrari make no effort to supply period correct tools from the original suppliers as it would simply be too costly to have them re-manufactured. Instead, they simply supply the modern day equivalent tool from their latest supplier

(Someone on Fchat had a couple of screwdrivers missing from their 328's tool kit and so ordered replacements from Maranello classic parts. When the screwdrivers turned up, they got very upset that the replacements did not match the original screwdrivers and so contacted Maranello Classic Parts to complain, only to be told that the screwdrivers supplied were the modern equivalent and the only one's Ferrari supplied).

I have a "complete" 355 tool kit lying around in the garage. Have been too lazy to sell it! Let me know if anyone is in need of one.

Thanks. Seems both versions contain same tools. I believe the black Agip/Ferrari tyre repair case should also be in there
