Which 355 to buy?
Discussion
I think part of it has to do with certain (nameless!) dealers flooding the market with very low quality LHD imports and killing their own market. Also given 355 is famously a reasonably expensive car to maintain (best case) people are rightly willing to pay higher upfront premium for better maintained ones which tend to be RHD (they are a bit more "relaxed" re maintenance on continent).

This is frankly nonsense. There are plenty of fastidious owners on the continent and a large number of highly respected service & restoration companies. UK cars are not better looked after than cars coming from other major European countries.Bispal said:
I don't understand why LHD 355's are almost half the price of RHD. It doesn't happen with other cars, the differential is usually around 10%. With a Ferrari they usually drive better in LHD as that's how they were designed and as Enzo intended and the pedals are not offset. Of course RHD is rarer but the market is also restricted. There is no real discernible disadvantage to driving LHD, apart from car park barriers, and that can't be worth £40k? Insurance costs a bit extra but its a bit, around £50.
The massive differential seems to suggest that LHD 355's have will have to increase faster to catch up?

It's easier to hide a story in an lhd car.The massive differential seems to suggest that LHD 355's have will have to increase faster to catch up?

Personally I'd steer clear of the very low mileage cars, I tend to think that these types of cars need to be used regularly. They are great cars by the way, whatever you get you'll love it. I have a yellow spider with 32k miles, it's been great - I'm looking to get something a bit newer, but every minute I've owned it has been a joy.
