Its a common problem having the HVAC ECU fail on F355's and mine's no exception.

Sadly new ones NLA and used ones like rocking horse sh*t.

There's a thread on Ferrari Chat confirming that its usually just one of the 6 chips that has failed and these are available for about £5 each.

Whilst I could send mine off to ASI in US/Canada who many US owners have used, I'd prefer to get one of the UK ECU repair/test companies to do the work but would feel way more comfortable using someone tried/tested and recommended.

Has anyone had their F355 HVAC ECU repaired in the UK, or need to get theirs repaired if I can find someone?

I'd think any of the UK based ECU repair companies would be able to repair that - problem being that it is very rare for chips to 'fail' without reason.
Porsche use the same chip in the same application and failures there can be traced to faults within the rest of the system - lack of refrigerant or intermiitant
connections within the flap position servos.

Ian - I'm sure you've done your research, but feel it's worth posting my experience. I removed my HVAC ECU due to inability to set air direction, which is one of the symptoms in the Ferrarichat thread you mentioned. I'm handy with a multimeter and soldering iron and was going to fix it myself. I traced every connection on the board and measured resistances at each chip, but couldn't find anything wrong. After refitting the ECU, it magically started working correctly.

So - try unplugging the ECU (not just turning off the battery) and leaving it unplugged for a while to ensure there's absolutely no charge left in the circuit, then plug it back in. It might save you a repair bill.
