Cars not selling?
Discussion
Not sure I agree with the statement about cars not selling. Bought my 360 spider from Alexander's Boroughbridge 2 weeks ago and went back onto their website to see how much they'd put my old Bentley up for. It and about 6 other cars for sale 2 weeks ago are now reserved including a 488, 458, California, 2 Bentleys, 2 GTR's and a Maserati GT. Good cars realistically priced are still selling IMO....

The keyword is "REALISTICALLY" priced. Far too many advertised at speculative numbers hence why they have sat unsold for literally years in some cases. With a rare high spec limited edition I guess you can name your price but high volume standard cars like 458 and F430 I cant see it
I think that while Brexit and the election could partly be to blame possibly the biggest factor is the market catching up with itself. Since the downturn most of the more desirable models have seen a rise in value but availability seemed relatively scare; when I bought my 550 about two years ago there were ten available on PH, now there are 55. Where's the sense of urgency in picking one up when there are so many sticking around?

How are you enjoying the change ? Quite a contrast I would guess
Loving it, had a Modena 3 years ago and regretted selling it. The Bentley would waste the 360 in a straight line and top speed but there's something special a red Ferrari and I do like a convertible. I'm sensing a few people don't rate the 360 but I love the shape from every angle. I don't normally like this kind of thing but it's got the Ferrari sports exhaust which sounds epic but not tiresome around town or when cruising. At £73k I'm comfortable there'll always be buyers and hopefully keeping it for a long while....AndrewD said:
Sold my Boxster Spyder within 48 hours for asking price well over list.
Also bought a 4.0 997 RS. Same dealer just sold a 993 RS and Speciale.
Those are very low number and desirable cars though! Boxster Spyder made in small numbers by UK market standards and hardly ever more than a handful on the market. 4.0RS speaks for itself Also bought a 4.0 997 RS. Same dealer just sold a 993 RS and Speciale.
I also think looking at say the Boxster Spyder and the 430 which are interesting as they're similarly priced.....big, big difference is running costs. One still has an official manufacturers warranty and whilst being relatively expensive to maintain compared to most cars not the same costs as a 430.
I mention maintenance because I think it's those costs that will start to force the market lower....people will swallow maintenance costs when they're seeing their cars gently rising in value (and forget about them when they do the "how much has my car gone up in value calc") but it's a very different mind set writing a cheque for say £5k when your car is at best worth the same as a year ago or maybe a bit less.
This has been on the market since I started looking in august 16.

WOW!http://www.forza288.com/ferrari/ferrari-360-modena...
That is very expensive.
I want a bit more than that for mine with 4 times less mileage.

Speaking of cars selling/not selling. Porsche 987 (05-12) Boxster Spyder, only one left for sale. These cars are about to make a leg higher in price. Brilliant drivers car if you haven't tried one.
Might be brilliant, but I couldn't have a sports car where you have to pratt about removing loudspeaker cables and compartments to have a chance of glimpsing the engine. It just goes against my PH mentality.Behemoth said:

It just goes against my PH mentality.Seems that dealers may be tentative,or crooks, at the moment judging by my experience this week.Took my f430 for a service and suggested I may sell if they were interested.Car sailed through the service with no advisories and I was offered the princely sum of between 70 to 80k for an 07 f1 9k miles ffsh corsa good spec!
