Since when has 32k miles become "Very high miles"?
Why do people insist on talking such a load of tosh.? at that mileage the engine is barely run-in. A few maintenance items will have come up by then, most probably front end ball joints.
430 is a great car, but I couldn't justify an additional 40-50K for the step up to a 458.
I love mine.....and it really is an experience driving it. It looks classic Ferrari in my opinion and this grey suits it.

458's currently are a step up again and i am sure they are lovely too.

12 years old and 32,000 miles isn't a lot of miles pa.
Its easy to do on a Ferrari so lots of these cars have haircuts though so you need to check that the general condition reflects that mileage. Most would of been valeted and detailed to death to make them look pretty. Definitely needs a professional PPI at that age and mileage

Can't for the life of me understand how anyone could say that an F430 is overpriced? based on what? a 360 is almost the same price and the 458 is nearly double? doesn't compute?
I have an F430 spider, call me bias, fine, but my position currently is that I have rejected 2 offers this year on my car, for more money than this lovely car at £85k the OP has shared with us, that, IMO is a bargain and will not lose you a penny for years to come.

The OP's desire to purchase a 430 should be respected, to then be told to spend double and go for a 458 is really quite offensive, he may be able to afford 3 of each but to whom are we to question, we should try to at least stay in context with the OP's post surely?

The F430 to me has been a wonderful acquisition, full fat V8 Ferrari experience and drama every time I use it, no question, in 3 years the feeling has never changed, however I tested both 458 and 488 with a view to a possible upgrade recently and yet I find myself not wanting to let go of my 430, to get into a 4 or 5 year old 458 spider for £70k plus is simply crazy, I'm now considering a 2nd Ferrari, say a 612 or 599 as a daily commute tool.

I'm sure in time I'll let my 430 go but for now I can't part with it, it's a great car to own, the mechanicals issue can all be done DIY for very cheap money, less than quoted in this thread, I've done Hills ball joints, tie rods, track rods, stock manifold repair, new tires all round, all from ambers from main dealer at annual service each spring, in 3 years my costs are approx £1500 pa inc main dealer services.

I asked a friend of mine which of his Ferrari's does he enjoy driving the most, his answer? his 430, true story!!
