F12 versus Aventador has parallels with Daytona versus Miura. Both are amazing cars, both polarize opinions.
Aesthetically it is difficult for any mid-engined car to look as good as the classic long-bonnet / short-tail front-engined 2-seater, as epitomised by Daytona and F12. Miura and GT40 succeed, but Aventador, Diablo etc. are too "cab-forward" for my liking.

There's an F12 going through BCA today.

Would have thought there'd be buyers lining up for them. Clearly not.

Apparently, could be bought for £253,800. Not sure if that's a bargain as don't know the full spec. I suspect not. Was a 13 reg with 790 miles.

Yep, a very large slice. I'm about to spec an F12 VS in a few weeks.

Per the regular F12, it is a colour sensitive car. In some colours it's bland. But later cars show greater promise. There are two specs on another site - Avorio with a black roof and Titanio with a Speciale style blue NART stripe - and both these F12s looked stunning.

Regarding the Aventador, I read Autocar's recent review of the SV. It was strongly positive but none too kind towards the regular model.

Morning mate! Don't tell me, Mrs C is seriously pissed, the aperta arrives next month and I'm refusing to sell the coupe. I'm now having to store the buggers for security and space reasons which is a pain on many levels. Not least what's the point if I can't drive them. Talking of which I'm unfortunately not sure I can make it. Can I play it by ear please? I'm pushing my luck with the boss as it is.

other than the rear lights and a couple of small details, it's not been very "Mansory'd"
I usually associate their work with horrendous add on's and general tack, but that looks very good

Where are you speccing the car? In Maranello?

Also a chap I know has a Rosso Dino F12 with grigio silverstone stripe (different spec). I agree F12 spec sensitive - Know of a chap thats picked up a pearlescent yellow one and looks rather lovely although massively in your face! Id opt for Grigio Silverstone/ TDF on F12.

On the F12 VS Id be very tempted for Bianco Fuji (pearlescent white) in line with a colour available on the 599 gto - will be interested to see how you spec it but I hope its something different wink

Thanks, yes will be at the factory early next week. I was thinking of Fuji with black or TdF/Pozzi but I'm also interested in using Argento N again with contrast colour stripe similar to the '60s 250 SWB Competizione. Or perhaps Argento Auteuil used on the 250 GTO. I tend to go for softer colours (for example Ferro/Silverstone for the 599 GTO, TdF/Bianco for the SpecialeA) so it is very unlikely to be in yellow. But for sure a light colour as pics of the VS suggest striking details; will make sense hopefully when I see the car in the flesh smile

I really like the F12 and I think it looks fantastic.

I have seen a few in different colours but I saw this one which is painted in Matt Black at Carrs of Exeter at the weekend.

I think it is amazing, the pictures do not really do it justice, it looks even better in person.

Know of another F12 owner who got their invitation today, I think Pozzi is a little too dark for this car, TDF would work better in my opinion, Fuji a classic colour on V12 Ferraris. Aregento N a bit boring I think for the car. So many choices I guess!

I, too, was at Carrs on Saturday - I think we may have spoken. Sadly, I have to disagree: nothing wrong with your photos, just the colour of the car! Gloss black is OK, but I really don't like the matt look at all. Maybe I am showing my age!

If I were in the fortunate position of buying a new F12, which I agree is a stunningly lovely motor car, this would be my choice, with beige interior and without the drug dealer's windows:

Yellow does look nice:

but it would not be my choice, partly because there would be little option but to specify a black interior and I don't like black interiors - too claustrophobic.

Anyway, it's academic, as a new F12 is beyond my budget, but I am off to Modena next week to collect this, which has the benefit that it will keep my family happy because it has four seats:

Love the look of the F12, looks great in most colours but that matte one is terrible, looks awful on most cars to be fair IMHO
