My 575 has upgraded suspension and steering ECUs and I throw it around like my old Caterhams (well, almost). It's steerable on the throttle and turn-ins every bit as well as my old 996. Maybe I'm not trying hard enough, but I haven't got it out of shape at all.
575M's are a very underrated car. I'd actually say that the standard 575M is a better overall car than the 550M - but the jury is out between the 500M WSR and the 575M HGTC though!rubystone said:

In all honesty I had it sideways a couple of times, the bad one was probably driver error !! My 550 was very confidence enspiring.
however on a long sweeping right handed that tightened up ( a road I know well) it broke away, dry roads and good tyres.
Trying to catch nigh on 2 tonnes at nearly 3 figures wasn't something I would choose o repeat !! 😳
In 12 years the 355 hasn't even come close to that

I had a MASSIVE tank slapper on the A4 near Hammersmith about 6 years or so ago in my old 355....by far the scariest moment I've ever had in the car and I was only doing 40mph How I caught it and didn't end up collecting a lamp post on one side or the barrier on the other I'll never know.Mario149 said:

Biggest moment I've ever had was in a Gallardo and that's 4wd!!!!Think anything decently quick can bite.
Love the 550 & 575s - was tempted to buy one, but as per the thread, prices were getting high, so bought an 02' Aston Vanquish instead - the 550/575 competitor.
Have seen Rubystone's lovely 575 and one day would love to go in one to see how they compare to the Aston - suspect they are a bit sharper handling/harder riding.
Cheers,
Mark

Yep, seen that.
Curious to see how good the 575 F1 system is, as the AM system not as bad as Clarkson makes out (if it had changed down when he wanted it to, it would have over revved the engine - system is idiot/Clarkson proof!).
They (575/Vanquish) actually appear to use exactly the same system, just how well they are set up makes all the difference.
Atb,
Mark

The F1 system in the 575 suits the car just fine. Having said that, the improvements in the F1 in my Superamerica are noticeable. Firstly the 'box doesn't tend to drop into first immediately one stops at a junction. That makes rolling starts easier - right pain in the earlier 'box but I tend to drive round it most of the time.Curious to see how good the 575 F1 system is, as the AM system not as bad as Clarkson makes out (if it had changed down when he wanted it to, it would have over revved the engine - system is idiot/Clarkson proof!).

The shift is a chunk quicker in the SA, especially noticeable at less than full bore upshifts. However in both cars, the shifts on full bore in sport mode are about as quick as each other - noticeably quicker than when not in sport mode.
And it's still quicker than the AMG 7G-Tronic 'speedshift' 'box in my SLK55 AMG!
But it ain't no DCT 'box!

Out of interest how is this an advantage I find it the complete opposite - pulling away in second slaughters the clutch so I manually override
