Compared to a bright red 430/458/458speciale they aren't going to draw as much attention, but I don't think thats the purpose of this car? It looks far better in darker colours as a general rule.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWB6vTboO5I This is a great video from Chris Harris - I really think it is a special car inside and out. Also if you've got kids its great as they can come with you! It really can be a special occasion family car. I think it has more class than a 458 as its more understated. Also If you weren't in London and were elsewhere I can guarantee people look round at it - sound usually gives it away v12 ferraris do sound special!

As Bertie says you should get a test drive on some proper road where you can open her up, and get a drive if possible than a quick 20 Minutes so you can really see what you want? biggrin I think the FF really seems to be a marmite car - I personally love it driving

Check my profile for what I drive, they're just my personal observations on the FF. You can take them with a bucket of salt if you like - I don't mind. Just my opinion biggrin

I live in Nottingham and have seen 4 FFs over 3 years here, one was red - not standard rosso fuoco I think, then a TDF blue, Grigio Silverstone and a Nero Daytona one. I generally hear them before I see them, I think they suit darker colours better with lighter/colourful interiors.
In contrast I've seen at least 3 times as many 430s, all red, and they do draw more attention - but I think thats more to do with the way they're driven more than anything else!

Totally depends what your personal preferences are whether you like it or not. Just my 2 pennies worth.

I have found a car and hope to have a deal tied up shortly.

What are opinions on paint protection film? I am considering having it put on the car.

I don't like it, never seen one that you can't see quite obviously, if save my money.

Phone a good recommended paint shop. Weigh up the price of protection film. Some you win some aren't worth their while as it can be cheaper for a respray.

New here, so perhaps this may still be beneficial.
Having had both cars, my recommendation would be for the FF.
Its a lovely car with pleanty of room, great driving dynamics, a sound note to lust over, and an engine that puts the Bentley's to shame...Sorry.
Forget the depreciation for now and find a well equipt car that suits your fancy. Afterall, drop in value.

A good excuse to bump this thread!

Just taken the plunge on an FF. Wanted one for ages. Picking it up this weekend and i can't wait to drive, as Chris Harris describes it, 'this frankly ridiculous motor car!'

Pics to follow.

Personally - If ever there was a 'grower' Ferrari this is it. Loved the concept but when first released just thought it looked awkward. Having seen & heard one in the flesh, complete rethink and now love it. From the front it just looks like it wants to bite your arm off and the cabin is stunning...

Two big thumbs up from me - stunning! biggrin

Must admit I was dubious when my father-in-law traded his Cali in for one! However, thought it looked stunning in Grigio when I saw it. Cabin is a lovely place to be, especially with the full glass roof and the performance is mad for such a big car.

My kids love Grandad's car but my 4 year old daughter has assured me she prefers my 430 because the roof comes off :-)

I don't really do big miles in anything, but I find I use the FF more than any of the others as it's just so usable.
Wife loves driving it too.

I wasn't convinced when they came out, but I have to say it's a very complete package and much more presence in the flesh than in pictures.

I had the rosso maranello FF. I think the shape works well in that colour. It's a caged animal around town (the 612 is much more enjoyable at these speeds, although it turns into a sauna when sitting in traffic). Very practical and comfortable. Downsides are the width and not as exciting at legal speeds.

Exhaust note is lovely towards the top end of the rev range and best appreciated with the windows down through a street with high buildings either side. I think the price may bottom out just under the 100K mark. The list price is more expensive to begin with, so don't think it will get down to 612/456 levels.

I found it hard to get used to the design of the rear 3/4s.

Has anyone managed to upload music to the HDD any way other than recording CDs one by one.

I'd really like to upload my music library by say just sticking my iTunes library on a memory stick and transferring it.
