The car has the service plan and will come with the Ferrari 1 plus 1 warranty which seems good value :0)

Hi Chaps. Just taken the plunge and bought a used FF. Please could anyone recommend me a good outdoor car cover for it?

Many thanks

Darty
My recommendation would be don't.

Unless you wash it every time just before you put the cover on the cover will just grind the dirt in and scratch the paintwork as the wind blows it around.

They're not leaky so it's better just left outside and invest the cover money with a good detailer on a long term paint protection, something proper like G Techniq not the normal Autoglym / Swissvax stuff .
This is what i would suggest too. Outdoor car covers just make a mess of the paint. Getting the car protected is the best way forward. Gtechniq coatings will last much longer than a wax.

I have just made an enquiry about a used FF. I'm intending to use it as an everyday car that I can get our kids I the back of. Am I mad?

I've lusted after one of these for such a long time and feel u really need to do the deed. Would keep it for 6-12 months; how badly will it ruin me :0)
What year / mileage / price you talking?

I don't use mine as a daily driver, but I use it at the weekend for hacking about with the kids, etc. it's a pretty decent family wagon, loads of space, comfy seats in the back, reasonable boot. the children love it, although my teenager daughter isn't massively taken with the amount of attention it gets !

above photo taken by one of my boys in the rear seats.

off to Le Mans in it this week, being used as the support car for pals on motorbikes, so it will be heavily laden. proper practical supercar.

I took my three kids aged 1, 4 and 6 to the recent Goodwood Breakfast in the FF - first time I've ever had 3 car seats (or boosters) in the car at the same time and it was brilliant.

Normally after a year of ownership I would be considering something new by now but the FF is so usable I can't think what I would replace it with.

Nice to see yours gets used properly - you might want to trim that last photo to clip out your number plate :0)

I concur! It takes 1 hour minimum to come out with the thing you knew you were going for too.

No just fking mental in my opinion until Shmee confirmed my thoughts - it was a joke.

If one has quarter of a million to spend on an FF, im certain they would spend more than a tank of petrol for said car on my wardrobe or kitchen table. Id imagine anyone with their life sorted enough to get an FF probably has a nice house and would like to fill it with quality furniture.

Dont try and be obtuse for the sake of it - you and everyone else knows what I meant rolleyes

And Shmee proved me right when he confirmed it was just as a joke for his viewers - fair enough thats understandable as it suits what im trying to say,

I'm pretty sure Shmee is using the bookcase to display his miniature car collection.

If you're just after basic things like crockery etc. then I don't see the issue with Ikea.

Does the same apply to things like restaurants? If you have an FF does that mean you aren't allowed to eat in McDonalds/Nandos/Pizza Express any more?

Not the same. Food is just an immediate pleasure giver. It doesn't need to have a 'quality' that will stand the test of time.

Things like crockery I'm 100% with you, but the furniture is cheap as chips and if I had enough money for an FF, I'd sure as hell not buy my furniture there. I don't even now and I'm far from being able to afford one.

Buy cheap, buy twice etc. It's the same buying a shed of a car - if you go as cheap as possible, you have to be prepared for it to go wrong/break and perhaps have to replace it sooner than you would if you spent the extra up front.

Jesus it was a throwaway comment about a multi-millionaire (presumably) going and buying crap furniture. I dont think I really should have to justify my point that it's a tad strange!

People have priorities in life.

I know one chap from school who lives in a static caravan near Blackpool, but because of that he manages (on a modest salary) to have a 355 Spider in a lock up half a mile away.

Nowt wrong with Ikea. My favourite spot to date was a Porsche 959. Not something you'd see every day!

actually I own (and drive an FF as my daily - say min. 1.5-2k km per month)and still shop at Aldi, H&M and occasionally Ikea. I just have different priorities and don't see the point in spending money on expensive crap I don't need. Also, thanks to the horrendous petrol consumption I can't afford anything else anylonger anyway .... for me personally certainly beats having expensive furniture and driving a diesel BMW every day
