I am working with a company to manufacture a replacement lever. When an owner goes to Ferrari with this issue, the only option (at the moment) is a replacement F1 A module. Ouch!

What do you think happens to the discarded faulty modules? I could really do with some of them to experiment with. I guess that they are worthless but do they just end up in the bin? Does anyone know where I can lay my hands on a couple of them in order to create a cost effective fix for us 612 owners?

Do any other Ferrari models use the same module?

I'm not sure. Possibly the 599, but I'm not certain.

Have you spoken to Hills who already manufacture the part for the earlier unit ? I know the 612 is different but the principle is the same I believe

Just buy an ally replacement from Hill engineering. Same fault on all the control boxes, wether it be Ferrari or Maserati, the failure is simply the small locking tags that break away.

Unfortunately Hills don't sell this lever for the 612, they do make one for the 355 and 360

Paul's currently working on a straight replacement, but I've modded their Ferrari ones to fit both a 612 and a mas QP.

I had a problem with my f1 box recently and have had it fixed it was leaking oil, I was told a new f1 actuator was the way to go but john at GT cars sorted it may be worth giving him a call regarding it or pm me for his number

Here are some photos of the replacement part to fix the 612 gear lever problem.
It takes about 10 minutes to fit. Also saves £3,000.

Nice job, did you fit it yourself?

Yes, it was very straightforward. Only 6 bolts to unscrew.

It's such a great feeling to find a cheap fix to what was previously and expensive problem.

If I needed one could I buy one off you?

Seems like I am having the same problem. 612 with reverse selector. The T bar selector is problematic. Have to fiddle it to go to reverse, lift it up sometimes goes into reverse, sometimes press it down lightly while selecting, and it works. 70% of the time doesn't work. If it works, half of the time a fault message appears on the dash, with the reverse icon, go to dealer etc. But this stops when I put into forward. Does this should like the same fault, I'm game to try the Hills repair and not get a £3,000 new part! Opinions gratefully appreciated.

Before you fork out take a look inside and if any of the pins are broken off (see the photos above ) you only need the Hills part
