Hi Guys

Is it me or has anyone else noticed that prices of late 612's are on the up? To me they are just looking better with age and because so few cars were produced, especially one to one's people are now jumping on the band wagon. An example of this, a Mercedes dealership recently 'sold' a low miles Grigio car with red carbon interior for £137,000!

I certainly put money where my mouth is and recently purchased a late 612 HGTC one to one, a car I could have had two years ago for a lot less money. My belief now is that this car will surpass its original purchase price of get this, £245,000 in the not too distant future.

Interested to hear opinions on the 612 market or indeed Ferrari prices in general. Regardless, the car is epic in every sense and will be staying for a very long time.

The Ferrari 612 is an epic car, it drives brilliantly, has huge reseerves of power, and looks like nothing else on the road. It is ageing very gracefully indeed, a very special car. Infact the only weak point is the f1 transmission, which can be a little lazy on early cars. The solution? Simple, buy a manual six speed! The one below has just come on the market, if I had 100k it would be mine like a shot!!

Manual gearboxes on the 612 did not suit the car according to the motoring press of the time. The only reason to buy a manual box would be for its rarity and potential future value.

My car is a late 2008 model with upgraded gearbox mapping software. Being critical it's a little sloppy at times, I'm driving mainly in Sport F1A mode and early observations are it tends to change gears when it wants to which is not ideal. The ZF gearbox in my Quattroporte GTS is better being a full automatic however you are never in th wrong gear for long.

Drop a cog, hit the fast pedal and hold on for dear life, this car will not stop accelerating until you run out of road or talent! Equally as impressive is the way the car stops, mines on Carbon Ceramics and they are mighty impressive, as is the handling when you are on it!

The 612 is super car fast even by modern day standards, which begs the question how fast is fast?

More updates as they happen.

I have never seen a review of a manual 612, either when new or any time since! I think it's about time someone reviewed one properly!

I have read references whereby they 'in relation to the car being a luxury transcontinental GT, the automatic is more suited.

Not driven a manual, would be interesting to hear from someone who owns one.

LIke using the bus I do not get to drive many manuals these days so slowly forgetting all the heel and toe stuff , only manual I drive is a 993 RSR all the rest are sequential and paddles...
Both my F cars have paddles the Scud GT3 and the Scag sure the change on the 612 is a bit slower than the GT3 but hey it is a GT ..... in sport mode you do not notice it ......BUT in sport mode you do notice how lively the car is the back breaks out wildly .
So a family daily driver for me but enough to keep you very on your toes ..
Love it

Did someone say manual 612? That will be me! I spent quite a bit of time hunting one down in a colour scheme I wanted but got there in the end. I think there are c30 manual out of c300 total.

I wanted the big shiny silver gear knob and the clicky clacky noise. Just my preference. With a big v12 and bags of torque, gear changing is somewhat optional. I love 4th gear as it will go hard from 40mph and not let up until well into naughty territory. I don't try to rush the gear changes, it feels a bit too rough if i do, and given the character of the car it doesn't seem necessary.

The F1 gearbox is a little messy on up shifts only, however if you lift off the fast pedal momentarily before changing gear this avoids the jerkiness. No issues on downshifts.

My car is a late one to one, I believe there are only 17 in the country regardless these cars are heading north in terms of value and will prove a good investment over time. Investment aside people should not forget how capable these cars are, a true super car!

Someone needs to lend their manual 612 to a motoring magazine such as 'Evo' to do a thorough review. It will only enhance the value of their car, and will allow the rest of us to get an insight into just how special they are!

Don't be mistaken that only 612 manuals will appreciate in value. To my knowledge all were early pre HGTC or HGTS models which were the cars slated in the motoring press.

Late One to Ones are rare and appreciating assets, only 17 registered UK cars.

JCT600 referenced information.
Now that I'm a member of the Ferrari Owners Club UK I'm going to follow it up.
What this space...

Did you follow this up at all? I'd be interested in knowing just how many OTOs are in the UK. The numbers on https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/ferrari_612_... would suggest 20 to 30 max considering half of the 2008 cars were pre-OTO. Anyone been able to verify this number?
