So what are you going for, Camlet?
I'm flip-flopping. The car is hardcore, and close up there's a ton of detail which dark colours will lose. All of which makes it a challenge to spec (yeah I know first world silly problems). The good news is UK cars are not slated until mid 2016 so will see different examples before I need to lock. Your suggestions are helpful. Thanks. In my un-solicited opinion TDF Blue is just to good a combo to pass up, a TDF TDF. It's what I'd be speccing if they let us have one! The only downside might be the number of people thinking the same thing making it the most common colour, but you're probably not going to bump into another one down at the local pub so probably not a big deal.

I think it may loose some of the details and presence, I did try and convince him to get a bright green https://twitter.com/glynheath/status/6768725425403...

An odd question, but if you were buying a tdf what would be your top three specs, in rank order? Just wondering. Cheers.
I think that is a really tough question but:1: Rosso Fuoco
2: Bianco Fuji (with probably a different coloured carbon fibre)
3. Blu Electricco
I also love TDF and Grigio Silverstone but worried some details may be lost in darker colours? I think of the launch colours Giallo looks great but the spec will be too common so would spec differently.

I'm back at the Atelier late January so still plenty of time for me to think.

Thanks. It's helpful looking at the tdf's now appearing - an all black has been posted, there's Cortu's all Avus/white car. I agree the triple yellow seems obvious but suits the car's character, and I agree about TDF and Silverstone. TDF works nicely on my Speciale because of the Avus stripe, doubt I want to repeat on the tdf. Silverstone was on my old 599 GTB and is a superb colour but too subdued for the tdf. BF or BI is an option, just not massively into white. I know RC is even more obvious and considered boring but the RC cars used for the press look stunning IMO, RC seems to work well on the F40 and F50 too But I'm also waiting to be see a tdf appear in Argento, so far I've not found one.

I swear there was an Argento photo circulating? I may be wrong but I thought it looked a tad bland still - but everyone's tastes are drastically different. I'm back at the Atelier late January so still plenty of time for me to think.

Hard to say what would look good but I really think it needs bold and bright - but not of the standard 2 launch colours you have just mentioned!
Are there any colours you particularly like on normal cars?
TDF not a good colour for the car IMV (and let's face it, this is completely subjective...). The car has a very extrovert character and appearance. Not the model to try and look refined in! So, my choices would be any one of....
Gallo Tristrato - yes, the launch colour but it is sooooo beautiful in the flesh.
Rosso Maranello - a bit richer than Fuoco, uses mica (small spheres which reflects pin-pricks of light for a slightly 'finer' look) rather than metallic flakes but is still triple layer for that cool reflective appearance (I'm biased because my Speciale is that colour and I love it). Red, but not as you know it Jim...
Blu Corsa - ok, so a 488 colour but I've heard it looks fabulous and might well suit the TDF; bold without being brash? Also not a triple layer so you can lose the £18k cost. And just replace it with £7k for being a simple metallic. Bargain!
Grigio Medio - I think it's called that; the ultra flat grey colour, if that floats your boat. It's both understated and aggressive at the same time. Could look brilliant.

I was on the line a while ago whilst doing an Atelier and there were lots of Tdfs in production.
Dark colours really don't suit is as the lose all the details, so I have to say the launch triple layer yellow would be my choice.
Here's a pic I took as there was one in the next door atelier room I got to have a nose round & sit in.
Sadly they wont sell me one either

The tdf has been the most challenging car I've specced.
I still can't put my finger on why it's been so demanding, perhaps it's the opposing forces: the powerful grace associated with a front V12 (beautifully captured by the F12, 599, 575 and 550 for example) versus the vibrant aggression normally associated with an extreme V8 (the Speciale, Scud and 360 CS for example)?
Triple yellow is awesome but too shouty for me. Rosso Corsa doesn't seem to be a popular choice. Dark colours IMO hide the complex detail of the tdf and are a brave choice. But a Titanio tdf delivered in Europe looks superb, the greys (Ferro, GS, CdF) suit the tdf well.
Yesterday I finally agreed with my dealer the spec. It's done. It's a wrap. I am excited and relieved.
The final cut:
Exterior:
Argento Nurburgring
Single racing stripe nose to tail in John Lennon's 1965 330 GT Azzuro Blue.
Diamond wheels.
Nero Lucido calipers.
Gloss carbon exterior (inc hub cups, fog lamp, underdoor cover, exterior front).
Body colour exterior mirrors.
Standard exhaust pipes (brightest metal choice to contrast).
Scuderia shields.
Interior:
Blue medio, with a mix/contrast between leather and alcantara all in Blue medio.
White rev counter.
Carbon travel rear bench.
Carbon dashboard inserts.
Horse stitched on headrest in Grigio Chiaro.
Daytona racing seats.
Plus usual extras: lifter, passenger display, hi end audio, fire ext, carpets with logo, cameras etc.
I've tried to combine the car's grace and aggression. I've tried to create something a little special while restricting the number of colours used, and instead use differences in texture and finish to create contrast.
Slot tbc but probably around Q3. Will wait for the render.
A very challenging car to spec, but of course outstanding fun

I'm a big fan of yellow Ferraris but I must admit the spec you have chosen sounds fantastic, very classy and almost retro!I still can't put my finger on why it's been so demanding, perhaps it's the opposing forces: the powerful grace associated with a front V12 (beautifully captured by the F12, 599, 575 and 550 for example) versus the vibrant aggression normally associated with an extreme V8 (the Speciale, Scud and 360 CS for example)?

That's going to look mighty fine!I totally agree with your reasoning, dark colours lose the details, yellow looks fantastic but maybe a bit too much on the road.
Saw a silver on the line, looked fab, as curiously did a flat grey.
