The big plus for me with Tom Hartley is that if they know you they will be welcoming and do a good deal, if they dont know you though they're not that fussed. Not great if you want to buy from them as a first time buyer but on the other hand most buy repeatedly from them.
confused

So essentially you're saying if you're a new customer then you're lucky if they give you the time of day, and you just have to put up with that treatment and strike a deal anyway, then next time (?) even though you were treated like st before you could go back to them and they'll be a bit nicer? That's a big plus? confused

You've nailed it though. I had the dubious pleasure of phoning Tom Hartley once about a F430 they had advertised. The guy I spoke to couldn't be more disinterested and dismissive of my perfectly reasonable questions, like it was a massive chore to him to sell the car. I wasn't in the mood to put up with that attitude and bought my car elsewhere. I guess I'm forever doomed to be treated like st by them for having the temerity to have not bought a car from them yet. frown
Many, perhaps most, indy supercar dealers are like that. A combo of status-signaling, industry machismo, and tyrekicker fatigue. It's wrong, of course, but British people are not good at customer service and, as you mention, you just gotta try and work around it if possible by shopping elsewhere.

I guess i wrote that wrong, what i mean is that you read very different reports of both of them and they seem to fall into the im a customer and they're great camp or the I tried to be a customer and the car was shabby.

What is great about that is that as a customer who for some reason never got the cold shoulder from them, i could easily buy unseen from either of them and know that the car would be as expected.

Reading some reports from others i am surprised at the difference in experience and i dont doubt they are telling the truth but my experience has been wildly different.

as for the puddle, i believe but have not seen that this section can be flooded and drained at will, i would presume therefore that car is driven on, you get out, you flood take photo, drain and drive off again. No need for wellies
Looking at their current ratings on Google today, they are getting a mediocre 3.6 out of 5 stars and there are quite a few negative comments in there recently.
