I can't stand these. In my opinion SUVs can only be justified if used off road, and the glitzy ones with expensive leather will never be seen up to the arches in mud. A Purosangue isn't about the handling, or the speed, or going off road - it is about showing off. Conspicuous consumption.

I am sure many disagree, but that is my view.
In my opinion low riding supercars can only be justified if used on track, and the glitzy impractical ones with two seats and lots of carbon will rarely be seen there. A low slung supercar isn’t about the handling, or the speed, or the going on track- it’s simply about showing off. Conspicuous consumption.

A Purosangue will be a better road car than most supercars, but so what. Some people may think your vehicle choices are crass, but so what.

Not only does my “glitzy” one have expensive leather, it has a quite inappropriate creamy grey leather and lives on a farm. The only time it has been washed all yr was by Swindon Porsche a week or so ago. It’s pretty much mud coloured in its entirety.

Battery drain is terrible - worse than any Ferrari I have ever known. From 100% to 50% in less than a day!

BTW the car is supplied with the new CTEK One rebranded as Ferrari (I have one independently and they are a very very good charger)
How are you getting on with yours now? I've done about 100 miles over the past month and haven't had any battery problems.

I would agree that low riding supercars are pretty silly if not on track, and plenty of cars out there are way too stiff for UK roads which makes using 800bhp pretty sketchy if not on a closed circuit...

Have to say if I wanted a V12 road car I'd probably get an F12, so as you say, horses for courses and all but I can't make a Purosangue make sense in my head.

Don't Ferrari limit total production of all models to c10k per year? Unlike Bentley or Aston Martin, I don't think Ferrari are looking to increase production. I'm sure they could ramp up production if they wanted to, but like other luxury brands restrict numbers to maintain exclusivity? They will always produce around that number per year, therefore to increase profit, just increase the RRP and the cost of options???

On a side, did I hear somewhere that Ferrari won't allow you to purchase a base spec model?

I might be wrong about all of this.

I am really pleased with the car - drives like a 4 seat 812!

Battery drain seems have settled down a little - using abut 33% a day when unplugged. Definitely needs to be on trickle charge or driven every day!

I am very surprised by the battery drain. What happens if you want to leave it at the airport for a few days or if you go and stay in a hotel and don’t want to use it for week?

will dealer be looking at the battery drain?
as some electrical item is drawing the power...
at the rate your battery is draining, the item that is drawing that power will not be doing it any good.

that is one of the reasons I can't use my FF for some trips. It can manage c. 5 days, but any longer and I need to be there to drive it for a while before parking it again (obviously only applies in places where you cannot trickle charge when parked).

I have always had issues with Ferraris and battery drain. Am used to it and they are all on charge in my car barn. In answer to your question if I leave the car somewhere without power and undriven for a while then I attach a CTEK FREE (highly recommended) which has an onboard battery to keep the car battery topped up.

Italian electrics are now very advanced and very thirsty…..

V have (had?) one for sale at £500k

On another note, batteries do seem more fragile on newer ones, my Roma chewed through 2 in a year and a half despite being regularly driven and kept on charge.

Don't want to jinx it but F12 is fine so far...

Are these still fetching overs? Heard of one being up for hush sale by main dealer at marginal overs.

Been offered one at 10% above - however I've also heard of cancelled orders.
