Its probably pointless saying this but I'll say it anyway.

I was watching a video about the M4 GTS. It was the owner giving his opinion. He said the resale value of the car is overpriced and so is about everything else. I respect that because he's being objective.

In my time of buying these cars if a car didn't sell for months (sometimes weeks) it was either (a) overpriced or (b) unloved. I don't think the latter applies to most of the stradale adverts or some of the other cars I've seen advertised with no movement. They're nice cars but just not selling.

I'm not averse to spending 200-300k on a car not even a stradale but logic and ownership of these cars when new makes my mind compute = "thats not worth it". I agree that if I owned one I would sell it and would be laughing to myself as the buyer wrote out a cheque for 300k for a 16M thinking to myself theres one born every minute.

Its not only me who says that. When I speak to the 2 main dealers I have a relationship with the reply is "don't do it - its overpriced". Perhaps that notion is lost in todays market. If it is then that won't last forever.

I know of one car being sold for 200k. I hope that helps anyone else in the market.

its only a benchmark if you provide more details on spec, mileage, LHD/RHD, history, imported or UK registered.
I think there is far more transparency around Ferrari prices than Porsche at the moment. Even a seasoned Porsche valuer is struggling with my Porsche 930 Turbo for insurance purposes.

Absolutely! £200k could be a low mileage LHD or a high mileage RHD.

Heres some other facts:-

Silver Nick Cartwright car - been advertised since May - not sold.

Black car - private seller - been advertised since June - not sold.

Red - GC car - advertised in September for £270k now £250k - not sold.

White car - advertised in March - not sold.

I am sure there are others but don't have the time to provide a prescriptive list but will track things from hereon.

The 04 with 9k miles looks priced right. And a great example.

I'd quite like to buy another one. They are such fun!

In pricing terms, it will just come down to how long you keep it surely. In 10 years, a CS will be worth so much more than a Speciale. There are loads of them and they don't sound very good!

How many Speciales are there?

Bit of cup-of-coffee-googling suggests:

3000 458 Speciale
1800 430 Scuderia
1100 Challenge Stradale

There are a few numbers for the CS but the most widely accepted production number is 1288 total

Cs is such a lovely car with subtle details but paying 250k or more basically means it's an investment and is put away in the garage never to be used.
This puts me off it as an ownership prospect

I think the total UK RHD number of 119 makes it somewhat rarer than most things.

All F40s are LHD and there are a hell of a lot of those in comparison.

And how many RHD 599 GTOs are there? And the daft money they are seems out of kilter with CS values to me.

Agree. Either CS is way too cheap or all the others are way too much. Hope it's the former wink

Despite owning a CS, I hope it's the latter. I sooo want an F40

Even less when you divide it by colour.
