Anybody who calls a car a potential investment knows little about investing. A risk when selling yes, a guaranteed return no, especially on a 512 TR or a Rossa. A risk and some people as ever are asking silly money. It will end in tears before the end of the year when interest rates rise by 2% and again in Feb 2015.
If I had accepted the offer made to me by a dealer last weekend, a dealer, not private, then I would have made more money on my TR in 2 years than my house has made in the same period. Of course I know nothing about investing whatsoever but am able to use the calculator on my iPad.
It's funny because a few years ago someone told me I was insane buying an old VW Splitscreen camper van and that it would be a waste of money, again, what do I know about investing other than the fact that it has an agreed insurance value 10 times the price I paid for it with a network of people who know the vehicle and would buy it for more than that, in the time it would take to finish writing this sentence.

But what do I know??

should see it now its back in the car, I never get bored of looking at it, it looks as it sounds now, a special one off, it certainly got some attention when I drove it back home at rush hour which was interesting with a race clutch.
Got any recent pics?

I know which one I was most happy about taking home. This shot shows just how low the testarossa is in comparison to modern cars.

Shots taken by a young lad by the name of Harrison. Lamborghini Sevenoaks were kind enough to let me park on Saturday and Harrison kind enough to take the photos. I returned the favour by "running" him around the block, not sure if he knew the 80s cars can actually get a move on?

Yep that is very good money for a Cat C car and remember there would have been a hefty buyers premium on top of that, taking it nearer to the £65 K mark!!

Now watch as the prices of TR's jumps again as Mr Metcalfe adds he own brand of market inflation, just look what he did for the Zonda and then the Countach after that. Plus it will be great to see his articles, modifications or improvements to the current car, looking forward to an Evo video along the route Napoleon!

Hi Mr Paulo, is yours the car with Ferrari Shields pressed into the front wings and the 18" split rims?

Thought so, I was there the other weekend and Ian did an oil service on my Rossa. Absolutely loved the pressed wings on your car, never seen one done before, assuming that was not a factory job although it looked OEM. I have known Ian for years and I service all my own cars because I trust no-one , except for the Rossa which I leave to Ian. The attention to detail and level of service beats anything I have ever experienced.

Good news, glad to be of assistance to both yourself and Ian, my wife and I were there when he first opened the doors and will continue to support someone of this calibre. Hopefully we will bump into each other at some point. My first name is Spencer, so if you mention we have chatted to Tara she will give you the "friends" discount ha ha!!
The other Rossa which was there was a LHD car, which also came as a recommendation, maybe I should be on commission?

Did your car get wet at some point, left out overnight, jet wash, driven in the rain. If so this can play havoc with the metering system/electronics and the bank goes down. Chris Harris wrote a piece on this recently, take a look.
Will make sure I make your acquaintance next time I am at a Brkaways event.

Right....so that's what that was, I thought he had just lost the rubber boot/cover of the steering boss. I am sure it's slightly more ergonomic but not sure about the aesthetics, looks rather industrial.
Looks like that car has been properly gone through both in terms of mechanical and detail wise, needs a Tubi or something similar!
Oh and I now know where the two ash trays are, I have had the car 4 years now and did not they existed.

Glad you enjoyed the vid, I use a universal steering wheel extension available via Demon Tweaks on all of my '70s and '80s Italian cars but I see Hill Engineering do a bespoke Ferrari Testarossa steering wheel extension that allows the horn to still work (unlike on my TR), link here: http://www.hillengineering.co.uk/catalog/sws02b-p-...
Welcome and Nice to see that you have finally found your way to the testarossa thread Harry. As said before, been waiting a while for that video, absolutely spot on. Have you got any pics of the car that you can post up in the near future? What's next on the agenda/project list for the car?

I do believe my predictions from last year have already come to pass. It seems the iconic testarossa is starting to rightly claim its place in the hierarchy and indeed it's place in the market. RHD cars with 20k miles + seem to have levelled at £100k at present with some signs of sub 20k miles hitting the £150k sooner than expected. Wonder if the Miami Vice car sold for its advertised £1.3 million though?

Watched this one a couple of days ago, followed by three episodes of Miami Vice. Pogsons car sounds lovely in that carpark and looks incredible in white, starting to think I chose the wrong colour. BTW that was 4 mins or so of an 11 minute film posted on Driven, but to watch it you have to subscribe and give over bank details.

A testarossa looks superb in yellow and it contrasts so perfectly with the black features on the car, would not have a problem with a yellow one myself. I assume black interior? RHD and miles?
