30 years ago a family friend had a 512BB, he used it every summer to commute in and if I missed the school bus i used to brave it and ring him and on occasions he used to pick me up and drop me off at college.

When I was a home in the evening i used to open my bedroom window when Andy was due home just to hear it burbling and coughing as he came off the main road into the village.

I loved that car and still do, I wonder where it is now?

Can't be that many RHD red 512BB, Cream with black Daytona seats, without black cills around.

That was the start of a life long love of most things Ferrari - (excludes hats, aftershave, nasty merchandise etc.... )

Gulwing motorcars in New York have / had an 83 Boxer with a Koenig body kit. Red with black and low miles, it was on @ circa $239,000.

If only I had the bucks spare, lol

There was a lovely Koenig 512BB at Wilton for the Classic and Supercars event. I thought it looked absolutely stunning.

Not my pic. Proper version is at https://www.flickr.com/photos/94169616@N03/1852867... along with loads of other excellent photos from the day.

I wouldn't say it was ruined - it's just different. Personal opinion only, others are available smile

It accurately reflects the 80s time of excess but it's still a BB 512 underneath the kit (albeit with turbos). The rollerskate-style Gotti wheels don't do much for me and the same is true of the rear wing but if it's in good nick it would be a hell of a car. I've seen pics of the interior and dash that make me think it hasn't had the easiest life so it may be a sad boxer (regardless of the Koenig work).

I may be a little bit biased though - the Wilton car is mine.

Have Koening ever improved the look of a car? 348, Testarossa, Boxer, Countach all made worse

I actually like just about everything koenig made, especially their 512bb easily one of my favourite cars, completely changes it from a pretty ferrari to a aggresive menacing beast, espically with the wing, has a place in my dream 5 car garage

It's very much a marmite thing - people either love the changes or hate them. The original design is very understated with classic, beautiful lines. The Koenig changes make it, as you say, far more aggressive. It divides opinion.

I don't have the wing on mine - it and the little wheels are stashed somewhere. I might put the wing on at some point but those wheels are going to remain in a tidy stack in a corner.

For me, it reflects a time. The 80s tuning scene was excess layered on excess and it's no surprise that it offends some people. It'd no different to the current (?) stanced scene - just aimed at a very different demographic.

Car is in good overall condition and is in the UK.

Bit of TLC and will be stunning cloud9

Just spotted this thread. Here are some photos of a Twin turbo Koenig 512 and an early Testarossa, which we saw racing at Donington in the mid 80s. The Koenig 512 TT won easily, I think from another less wildly modified Koenig BB. It was a "world debut" race for a Testarossa and it didn't do too badly. These images had already been posted a few weeks ago in the Classic Cars section, so apologies to those who have seen them before.

Hew Dundas was owner of the Testa. One of the very first in the UK supplied by Maranello in 1984 from memory.

That Testarossa could have been yours for 35K 5 years ago according to this thread, which coincidentally mentions it running in that same Donington race we were watching:
