Just got around to reading my October 1965 copy of Motor Magazine - Yep, a slow reader biggrin

OMG yikes check out these Ferrari prices. A 250 GTO went for over £25M / $30 last year so what's the theoretical value of all the gorgeous beasties on this page would they still exist today I wonder scratchchin

A race ready GTO for £3800 and the 1964 300GT show car for £5275 - I know, I know, you could have bought a house for those prices but it's a bit of fun dreaming.

Anyway I called the Weybridge number pronto but it didn't connect - damn!

Since Ferrari didn't make the 250 GTO until 1962 you would likely have found the 1958 example in the ad to be some sort of scam so you have probably had a lucky escape (with your £1295).

the 250 GT Berlinetta is tempting though, but only if it's got the optional carbon fibre filter box cover biggrin

Well, Talacrest are advertising a physical 250 GTO in today's classic magazine, no price but then if you have to ask.......

The '58 250GT had 45,000 miles on it. Good man that - although it could never have been considered a good investment with that sort of mileage ....

That's because very few of the original owners had them castrated. As the saying goes, there's no such thing as a bad car, only a bad owner...

Oh the doesn't matter - when the prices go up, the mileage gets reduced to a more palatable amount - "engine rebuild" or the car goes abroad for a while etc etc
