Why so little on the Dino

Just stumbled on this thread after reading the piece in issue 222 of Octane about the Dino and relating what was being said about it - small, lovely balance, not overpowered, everyday practicality, lovely to look at, special, not especially popular when new so quite rare etc - to the A110 I've just taken delivery of. I think this post confirms my thoughts exactly! This is the Dino in which I enjoyed four very happy years driving undoubtedly the best car I have ever owned, including one of my best ever road trips, a 2,500 mile round trip to Maranello for the 50th. anniversary celebration in 2018 (last two photos). There are only two Ferraris I have ever wanted that I could afford, and this was one of them. I consider myself to be a very lucky man to have the memories of Dino ownership.

Looks like it was born that beautiful not made.
No car needs to be any bigger than this, they fit like a clove
Owned two Dino's some years ago and although i've had plenty
of faster exotic cars since not a day goes by that i
regret selling them especially that speed isn't number
one factor anymore, It's deeper more emotional than that ,
it's the way the car makes you feel.
And what a fantastic arial photo of the 50th anniversary, clever stuff,

Thankyou. Blu Dino Metallizzato, very similar.
That must have been a wrench to let go on of. What did you replace it with? rat rod said:

Beautifully done, but I can't help feeling it's lost something in swapping the V6 for a V8. The flat plane V8 is by far the dullest sounding Ferrari engine, no matter how you tune it. I'd much rather have a tuned and enlarged V6 if I wanted more performance from it.Gassing Station | Ferrari Classics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
