Hi everyone.

I am creating some technical artwork for a 1st Gen Superleggera, and I'm struggling to find all the data I need for it. I found this link, for the 2011 LP570-4, and was wondering if anyone knew of a similar set of information for the earlier model?

TIA.

Thanks but not enough technical spec there for what I need.

I am looking for the kind of info that engineers would have rather than the marketing guys. Things like the aerodynamic lift/downforce figures, the rod/stroke ratio in the engine, the steering ratio or the piston diameters of the brake calipers.

I know all this stuff is pretty difficult to come by (I've had a big search via google already) but usually the really geeky stuff is achived in the pages of the owners forums and not easily accessible to non members!

Here's the finished product it all gets added to, if that helps visualise the sort of stuff I'm after.

I've got a good deal of it, but I like to include some nuggets that aren't available from Wikipedia or Carfolio!

It varies as I tailor the work to what is available, but I'll generally try and find out:

Brakes & Wheels

Discs: Diameter & thickness. Vented/solid. Material.
Caliper: Type/manufacturer/number of pistons/diameter of caliper pistons.
Master cylinder: Type (dual/tandem) & diameter
Wheels: Mfg & model, size, offset, bolt pattern etc. Weight if known.
Tyre profiles.

Suspension:

Type: (MacPherson strut/double wishbone etc)
Damper: Type (monotube/twin tube) & manufacturer. Adjustability.
Spring: Type and rate
ARB: Type (solid/hollow/adjustable) Diameters
Motion ratios*
Unsprung weight*

Chassis:

Type: (Steel monocoque/spaceframe etc)
Weight & weight distribution
Drag coefficient (If the car has aero, any details relating to that too)
Chassis stiffness*

Engine:

Engine code
Block layout and material (e.g. Alloy 6 cyl boxer)
Head layout and material (e.g. Alloy DOHC 4v per cyl)
Bore x stroke & Capacity
Fuel delivery & Ignition
Compression ratio
Rod length/rod stroke ratio
Maximum RPM
Power/Torque and rpm they are produced at.

Transmission:

Gearbox manufacturer
Code
Clutch details: (e.g. hydraulic single plate etc)
Type: (e.g. H pattern synromesh 6 speed manual)
Ratios:
Final drive ratio:
Differentials: (e.g. Helical LSD, DCCD etc)
Torque split (if applicable).

Steering:

Type: (e.g. hydraulically power assisted rack and pinion)
Ratio: (Usually between 15-20:1)
Turns lock to lock
Turning circle

I've got quite a bit of information but a lot of was gleaned from the 2011 model and I don't know how much was changed between that and the 2007 model.

Hi Dan, just wondering, but is this for my car? Paid for on Kickstarter. I might be able to help with some details.

Oh and Andrew, I have the CCBs and I find them absolutely fine to use, even when cold.

Indeed it is James!

I find it quite bizarre how machines like this, being the technical masterpieces they are, have so much of their technical information hidden. The amount of stuff I was able to find out about an old 3 series is absolutely staggering in comparison!

I've still got a fair amount of info on it, but as I mentioned, I like to get some information on there that isn't easily available from a quick search, so if you can help out with any thing then that would be superb. I'll email you the list I've got so far tomorrow. smile

I note you wanted yours in blue, I am still having issues with the blue plates at the moment. Turns out that supplier I used originally had some magical way of anodising the plates where they left no clamp marks anywhere which has now set the standard, but unfortunately every other company either wants holes drilled in them or to leave noticeable clamp marks on the faces!

Sure, send me the list so far and I'll see what I can add to it.

I'm pretty sure I wanted mine on a black plate. If I did specify blue please change to black anyway.

Yep says blue on the backer report, but black will be fine.

I sent the spreadsheet to your email address but got an out of office reply. No hurry particularly as I won't be getting much done over this weekend. smile
