... in the service book ?

I am looking to get my Performante a major service this year and had a quote from Lambo Birmingham for £ 3,120 inc vat.

However, I have previously used SB Race Engineering to service my Diablo (and was very happy with their service) and it seems their price for a major Gallardo service is going to be more like £2K inc vat.

Assuming that both are equal in terms of what they are actually going to do, I am very tempted to save a grand and go the SB route...

However, so far my service book has a full quota of Lambo service stamps and part of me would quite like to keep it that way, as I'm sure that would do no harm when the time comes to sell...

What would you do?

Cheers

Z

Keep the Lambo stamps going personally as I think it looks better when you come to sell

If it's a low mileage garage Queen then maybe the stamp is worth it.... If it's a high miles, specialist if renowned is fine, but price differential not massive...

Have you checked backdraft Motorsport prices

Agree with RL, keep the official stamps going, it'll pay for itself come resale.
PM me as I may be able to assist.

Depends on age. As a broad rule of thumb, some say Lambo stamps are 100% critical for at least the first 5 years of life. Perhaps 50% critical for the next 5 years. And perhaps 10% critical for anything over 10 years. Modern Lambos are arguably the most reliable supercars out there, so as long as they are stamped annually by Lambo or a respected indy, there shouldn't be too many problems.

Hi guys - I am also due a Major 18k service on my Bicolore LP560-4. I was also contemplating main dealer vs trusted specialist. Was thinking of using Backdraft Motorsport - these guys have been racing GT3 Gallardos all over Europe, so they seem to know their stuff - savings would be over £1k compared to main dealer.... has anyone had any experience with these guys - they seem to know their stuff and Mark seems a very nice guy.

Cheers.

Exactly what is involved in a major service that costs £3,120 inc vat. - Just wondering since there are no belts to change.

I have observed a full engine oil change for example. It's as straightforward as doing it on a Micra and could easily be done in 30 mins.

The point therefore is money spent on dealer servicing vs hope that resale price gained will outweigh this cost over ownership.
