"Car lost comunication with Egear"......

2006 Gallardo Coupe -
New egear actuator 3k Km's ago.

Initial problem is no gear selection available - dash lights stuck with both Reverse and Neutral lit.
Quick look on computer shows that the "Car has lost communication with the Egear".
Pending further investigation....
Has anyone else experienced this??

First step is to check the battery. Low voltage can send the electronics and gearbox haywire. Check the battery, perhaps fit a new battery, and then get a dealer or indy to plug into the OBD port and reset the system. Next steps after that are to check oil levels, actuator, etc.

It appears that the e-gear pump has failed....

Would be interested to know how much a new one is, considering I paid 2k for a new one fitted by BMW on an E46 M3 a few years ago.

The guy who sold me the car is picking up the tab thank goodness - he's said via text that it's £2k
