Certainly, the catastrophe thinking isn't helping you!

Just hit YouTube and search "Gallardo track day". That should keep you occupied for a while. biggrin
I will do. I am running out of Gallardo DIY videos on youtube. I have watched everything there is smile
Need to see some track videos now. smile

I do smile . But I am thinking of leaving the connection on or my neighbours would hate me. But I will see how loud it would be. I am guessing after a couple of days i will get acclimatised to the volume and will want more.

True. Maybe those remote valve controllers are the best option after all.

By the way,
talk about making a mountain out of mole hill. The part being awaited are the exhaust clamps as they broke whilst removing the exhaust to get to the gearbox. I completely understand now. I need to shut up for now and be patient.
Likely they need one of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00RM80ZOE/ref=as_li_t...

but obviously they won't be getting the Amazon one, likely a Lambo one.

waiting for sant'agata's finest craftsmen to sober up and return from their long summer break, then pluck a few old audi parts off the shelf, should give you a genuine feeling for l'esperienza lamborghini smile

I think i will get that with an aftermarket valved exhaust. Will check if they are compatible with Kline. I had one in my M4.

I am actually happy they will be changing the clamps as I have to install an aftermarket exhaust. It would make it easier to remove the bolts. And I would prefer the amazon ones, should be easier to work with.

At this point in my life, whenever I browse the listings on Autotrader, I'm wondering, "Are you even selling a car? Do you know what you've got on sale?"

E-gear manual? Coupé that's got a cloth roof? Etc. The effort they put into their ads for a premium car is mental.

Yea, very few dealers know anything about the car. You cannot rely on filtering the results at all. Not an easy job trying to find the correct spec car.

I think that would be a reasonable plan as the car will still be on original cats after all these years.

I tried to haggle but the dealer just kept looking at me as if I uttering nonsense. But my business skills are virtually nonexistent. I am sure, many potential customers would have brought this issue up but the dealer would still likely feign ignorance. But I would still use the CAT issue and PPI negotiate the price down.

I think the problem is that it would be quite a big challenge to bring the price down enough to cover the cost of upgraded cats.

Buyers who are aware of the issue wouldn't buy a pre-LP on original cats unless either the price factors in the cost of replacements or the dealer gets the work done themselves as part of the sale. But I guess some dealers can rely on the fact that some buyers aren't clued up.

That is true.

Ideally, I'd like to negotiate a £20k discount to cover the rebuild. biggrin

And then there’s the cost of taking time off to project manage the rebuild and the travel time and all those subsistence costs. The dealer will end up owing you money.
