Someone mentioned taking ownership of a thread. A poster creates a thread, how can he take ownership?

Regarding blocking, surely, if a poster could block a user's contributions from a thread, then the blocked users comments would not appear to the user who created the block. Other users, however, would still be able to view the posts. Therefore, it would not create difficulties for others.
