I'd say one reason he mods don't wish to have a "moniker" is because they are active members on the site & don't want the crap that comes along with being a "mod"
Having said that, stick around & you will spot those that are moderators!
All hail YAYB!
I would click on the thanks button but there isn't one, biggrin So thumbup instead. smile

TBH, I still don't understand the harshness of this 'judgement' or just a short fuse day for whichever mod it was.

I can confirm that the "Report" button is pretty effective thumbup . Might take a few hours, but the few things that I "report" (normally half-baked attempts to troll) usually get tidied up fairly quickly smile .

(And no, I'm not a mod.)

As I also alluded - reputation does not make an image suddenly offensive.

And fyi, I think that a few of the pics previously hoiked from PH that I had posted were actually originated from....... yes PH.

Oh well. Glad to see the decision was due to prejudice as opposed to the actual content there and then at the time.
Makes the 'Mod Thinking' easier to understand, I suppose.

I'd like it. I want to ask to make a thread a sticky in a forum, don't know who to ask.
Are there mods for different forums or is it just a big mixed bag?

Report button should work for getting a post considered as a sticky.

Some mods are forum-specific.

I think there needs to be a consistent policy that anything close to the bone is behind a "NSFW" link.

And "offensive" is "nsfw" ??

Or "nsfw" is "offensive"

Which to be frank is my point originally made. However other enlightenment has come in the form that you can be judged by previous as opposed to current posts too.......

Regardless- this forum, it seems, is never one for debate and I have never seen a Mod consider actions in the past - not expecting now.

To be honest, I normally browse PH at my desk when I grab a few minutes for lunch. So yes, a "bouncing boobs" image clothed or unclothed is offensive to that environment and I would find it extremely annoying. If a senior bod was standing behind me, it might have wider consequences.

PH is designed to be subtle and discreet because most of us are professional people who have a vested interest in not browsing inappropriate material on the internet at work...

So basically, get over it. "Offensive" is subjective but if in doubt, put it behind a NSFW link. We've all seen tits before, it doesn't make it clever to splash them all over PH!

Surely it's your fault if you click on the animated gif thread and see some tits?

Gifs are generally either someone injuring themselves or birds with various body parts out.

If you are stupid enough to go into that thread and then get caught by you boss oogling Kate Uptons' boobs then more fool you.

I didn't realise so many employers were so anal about people looking at the internet. My firm don't give a toss what I look at as long as its not hardcore porn and I get my work done.

I got banned from a thread for posting something that had already been posted in the thread a few pages earlier.

The original is still there, but mine was removed.

Go figure that one out.

Some people might find it offensive that you can't even be bothered to learn to spell the thing you're accusing them of.

Yes - clearly important.

'bothered' is not the case - not knowing is slightly more realistic don't you think?.

I think this is incorrect

I am on my lunch right now browsing PH, my team (i.e the people I am in charge of can see my screen) no issues, so can my boss again no issues

If I then have a picture of some birds jubblies bouncing up and down it becomes an issue, it sets the wrong tone for my team and whilst I wouldn't be sacked I am sure my boss would have a word

This site is meant to be family friendly, if my boss sees those sorts of things he could easily ask IT to block it and we are very relaxed about internet here too

Why should I risk losing my PH browsing at work and why should PH risk losing a huge amount of page hits all over the country because people cannot contain their excitement at a pair of boobies

And why shouldnt a user be banned if they have broken the rules, then again, then again and then once more? They are obviously not taking the hint

I would vote for MORE restriction not less personally

Yes but I am talking purely about the animated gif thread...where most of the problems seem to arise.

Gifs are usually meant to shock/amuse in some way, so if you click on that thread you are open to the consequences?

I am not saying it should be allowed to have random tits littered all over PH but in certain threads a women in a bikini can't be that offensive.
