We will be running a beta test team for the mobile site, so I'll be sure to include you on it. My comments weren't meant nastily, there was a large element of tongue-in-cheek. I've had a play with the new beta classifieds and it actually works very well. I was just pulling your collective legs a little about the less-than-ideal revamp at the end of last year...  More than happy to beta the mobile revisions and provide feedback. To be fair, the mobile experience had been excellent until the recent changes made by the third party, the sole fly in the ointment being the 4001ms timeouts thanks to the mobile site deferring to the main site and halting when the main site was under higher load. As I say, I predominantly use the mobile site so you were clearly doing something right as the overall experience was positive.

You know what, while I have your collective attention, I might use this as a bit of research for our forthcoming app plans.
What features would you like to see added to a future PH Mobile site/app (it'll be the former first) under the following broad categories? I've added some of the stuff I'd like to see, please add more.
1. Native phone features?
- Location services within classifieds (ie find cars within x radius of my current location).
- Using the camera to upload images. Either to the forums or when selling a car.
2. Stuff not on the mobile site from the desktop site.
- All content included. Currently a lot of new content (such as features) aren't carried across.
- Search tools on the beta site at present.
- Classified ad creation/management.
- Image posting in forums (other than hacking in IMG tags from other sites)
Plenty of other things I'm sure, so let's have your lists.

The ability to 'watch' a thread.
Be able to see a users garage when going into their profile from a forum post.

I suspect I know the answer to this, but is there any reason why it couldn't be made TapaTalk-compliant? After having used TT to access other forums, I'm won over. When it comes to forums, TT makes browsing/reading/replying etc very simple and a pleasure to use.
If that's not an option, I'd like to see more effective use of screen 'real-estate' for replies. Currently the text input box doesn't allow you to see much of what you've quoted or typed and scrolling within the text entry window - whilst do-able - isn't great. I think it's possibly because it tries to mimic the look of the desktop site (TapaTalk abandons the look of the main site in this respect, and is all the better for it imo).
There are the usual minor things like the inclusion of a  symbol in from of £ when posting from the mobile site, the aforementioned relocation of the 'Logout' hypertext (too easy to hit accidentally).
I'll post up more when I think of them!

TT doesn't work with this forum software, and the process of making it do so is much more investment than just building a bespoke mobile site which deals with all aspects of the site, rather than just our forums.

Stuart, one thing that would be great.
Currently you can remove the "mobile." from the address bar to get the to equivalent site on the main site. I don't think it works with the beta classifieds but for articles and some of the old classifieds, you click a link on mobile and says not part of the mobile portal. I don't think many know you can do this.
If it had the capability that if the content wasn't on the mobile site that it redirected, removing the "mobile." would be great.

Be able to watch a thread.
When you click view full website have it take you to the same place as opposed to the front page.
Be able to view peoples Garage from their profiles.

Could you just clarify if those are links to ads on the new site (which will start with beta.pistonheads.com) or all links? We know that the new site won't show in a mobile specific layout, but if this affects all links then that's a new one on me.

When reading what's new,if you click a thread,it would be nice if on return , you returned to the point in the list you clicked from rather than the top of what's new again.

This, and make sure it remembers which one you've selected so it doesn't keep reverting to mobile if you've selected desktop. PH mobile is pretty good at this, but other sites are a PITA for automatically selecting the mobile page.
