Doing the same here...again! (HTC Desire)

I found that when searching for Ph's, instead of using the 'official/optimized' Ph web link..(when I do, I get that bloody pop up), I chose an alternative link to view Ph's.
Seems to work...no more 'You Are 10,000th...' rubbish!

fk this, ph is completely unusable on a phone now, there seems to be quite a laissez faire attitude to this, the simple solution would be temporarily disable google ads until its fixed because it just feels like we're being taken for mugs.

This has been going on for 10 days now and it's still not fixed, do you really not care that much that after 10 days of 'troubleshooting' that you're letting it carry on?
Because soon the link is going to start redirecting to more malicious website that are going to do more than just spam and then it's going to be popular.

It does seem strange that the combined IT know-how within PH towers can't thwart this nasty little bug. Unless , of course, Haymarket are quite happy to take the financial rewards offered at the expense of any sort of usability for it's forum members. I think I know the answer without needing to ask the question

Turning your location services off seems to help.

I've found that if you select 'desktop view' or similar from the browser menu ( android Latest ICS version ) it keeps it at bay . Still very annoying though

Have you tried killing safari before returning? I saw this mobirewards page once after clicking a boxing stream link on the boxing thread, it covered the entire screen. I held down home button, killed safari, came back here, never saw it again.

Still getting it on Android this morning, it makes using the site on a mobile a complete waste of time and my postman has a bad back from delivering the sacks of iphone 5s every day too.

I'ts made PH virtually unusable on the mobile for me. The only way I seem to be able to avoid it is to stop pages loading just before they're fully loaded, but if a thread has photos on it then I quite often miss them like that.

Of course if there a PH mobile site that worked...

They're just doing it to generate money, wastes your data plans and generally annoys the user.

Considering there is no age restriction on the PH site these sort of adverts are just wrong and the associated advertisers should clean up their acts.

All they will do is drive people away from their site, shows what they think of the site users - cash cows to be abused.

PH don't allow ads like that. The problem is being looked at by PH and Google, who serve the ads. Stuart and Garlick and the rest of the team try to do what's best for the site and it's users, as that will bring in more money for Haymarket. That's why PH is quite strict on what ads that are allowed to be on the site.
