Why can't I get to the full website view on an I-Phone 5. I know it is a mobile but I find the site so much easier to use in desktop/full view?

I could do so yesterday, what has changed today?

I have tried clicking on full view but it just takes me back to the mobile front page and then upon clicking on 'forums' I get taken to 'mobile.pistonheads.com'.

Please help this view does my head in.

Thanks in advance.

Also the copyright at the bottom of the page is 1998-2009.

Which is strange as the one on the main page is to 2014.

What is happening has my forum traveled back in time?

You're being redirected to the mobile site. If you take out the mobile bit, and put gassing on at the end, you'll be taken to the full site.

As for the copyright being 1998-2009. That's because the mobile site is run by a third company, and there is no development work being done on it, as it'll be replaced by the Mobile Beta site in the near future.

Thanks for that Paul, but the question of why still remains. It is going to be a pain to remove mobile from the URL each time I want to look at the forum in normal view, plus on the front page there is no 'mobile' prefix to remove.

I'm on a 5S and PH.com takes me to the main non mobile page with an option to switch to mobile so not sure, I'll ask a tech to pop in and advise.

Gone dodgy on my iphone 4 too.

And Pistonheads.com/gassing returns an error too.

Meh.

I have the same issue on my Nexus 5. I can no longer get the desktop site. I have tried clicking on "Click here to try the desktop site" and also requesting "Full desktop site" in the browser settings, but I still get the mobile site.

This is serious as, no offence guys, the mobile site is rubbish.

Yeah, sorry this is a feature bug we've introduced recently as we're changing the way the mobile site is displayed to you.

We'll work on a quick fix or speed up the other project. Sorry for the inconvenience!

I don't use the mobile site as it's generally rubbish. Have you tried using the mobile skin?

I had this problem today too. On a samsung galaxy S4 running android 'KITKAT' . When I added 'gassing' to the web address I was able to regain access to the forums.

Well that worked for the 'gassing station' now they just need to fix the front page.

Thanks Spitfire2

Second that. I switch to desktop site when posting as I get an error otherwise. Presume this won't post. Samsung note 2. And sgs2 before it.

OMG it worked. Must be my essay length posts that normally break it. Not much else to do on a train.
